You're In The Jungle Toronto,You're Gonna Dieee

« Reply #20 on: January 19, 2007, 11:52:37 PM »

According to a posting on the RUSH fan site Power Windows, RUSH guitarist Alex Lifeson spoke with Canada's Rock Station (95.1 & 100.7 The Rock) earlier in the week about the group's new album, which is believed to have a working title of either "Snakes and Arrows" or "Snakes and Ladders". Alex revealed that the band flew to Los Angeles on Monday, January 15 to begin mixing the CD and expects to put the finishing touches on the LP by the end of the month. The album took only 30 days to record ? the shortest time RUSH has taken to record a CD since 1977's "A Farewell to Kings"! Andrew MacNaughtan has been video-taping the entire project, with the possibility that a "making of" DVD will accompany the final product.

During the interview, Lifeson stated that RUSH will launch a North American tour on June 12 or June 13, with plans to stay on the road through the end of the year, to be followed by dates in Europe and South America. When asked about RUSH's exclusion from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Alex stated "I couldn't care less. Look who's up for induction ? it's a joke".

P.S...Could one of the mods change the totle of this thread to the Rush thread or somehting plz?

Canadian rock trio RUSH is rumored to have scheduled the following live dates in support of their forthcoming new studio album (provisionally titled "Snakes and Arrows"):

Jun. 13 - Nashville, TN @ Starwood Amphitheater
Jun. 15 - West Palm Beach, FL @ Sound Advice Amphitheater
Jun. 16 - Tampa, FL @ Ford Amphitheater @ Florida State Fairgrounds
Jun. 18 - Atlanta, GA @ HiFi Buys Amphitheater
Jun. 19 - Charlotte, NC @ Verizon Wireless Amphitheater
Jun. 27 - Mansfield, MA @ Tweeter Center
Jul. 02 - Wantaugh, NY @ Jones Beach Amphitheater
Jul. 04 - Darien Lake, NY @ Six Flags
Jul. 07 - Homdel, NJ @ PNC Arts Center

It should be noted that these dates have **NOT** been officially confirmed by the band or its management.

In other news, the first single from RUSH's upcoming album is expected to be "Far Cry" (or "Farcry"), and it is set to go for radio adds on March 13.

RUSH's new album is expected to be released late spring/early summer via Atlantic. The tracks were put to tape at Allaire Studios in upstate New York with co-producer Nick Raskulinecz. "I have never enjoyed the recording process so much, nor been so satisfied with the results," drummer Neil Peart wrote last month on his web site.

Peart previously told Billboard.com some of his lyrics for the new songs were inspired by his motorcycle journeys throughout the United States, chronicled in the recent book "Roadshow: Landscape with Drums".

"Just seeing the power of evangelical Christianity and contrasting that with the power of fundamentalist religion all over the world in its different forms had a big effect on me," he said.

Prog-rock power trio Rush will release its first new album in five years May 1 and will support the set with a full-scale North American tour this summer.

"Snakes & Arrows" is Rush's first collection of new material since 2002's "Vapor Trails." The band recorded the album last fall and shared production duties with Grammy-winner Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Velvet Revolver). The first single, "Far Cry," is set to hit rock radio in mid-March.

Details about the tour will be announced in the coming weeks, according to a press release. The outing will be Rush's first North American jaunt since the group's 30th anniversary tour in 2004.
