RAMMSTEIN have fire
MUSE have a rumbling stage
AC/DC have a big blow up doll and a bunch of Cannons
Here's my question...if you were responsible for designing a stage for the new GNR, how would it look and what features would it include?

a metal chain to lock axl to the stage so that he cant walk off. but long enough so he can run around.
Just Kidding, I would have big stage with the band on it and axl maybe a few pyrotechnics and a large video monitor , but pretty plain and simple.

A model of Stonehenge.
I thought the one used in 2002 looked ok, maybe just add to that.

pyro SUCK so bad.
man i dont go to concerts to see fire and explosion.
i loved in the old days when u could clearly see everything, every member, how they play and all
i mean, in 2002 , u had to guess through the smoke, fire, and lights ..... too much.
i'd have BRAIN machines on top of a big chinese tank.
then huge chinese flags, symbol and all like theyhad on the side of the stage in the US tour.
some military and revolution items like crates, fake weapons, ammos ....
it would pretty much be a chinese "military" look. but no fire, no smoke, no blinding lights. I WANT TO SEE.

god, I agree-pyro is just flat out cheesy. I do like the video screens and the rest of the 2002 tour look. But, NO PYRO-makes it seem like a Poison or Crue show.

I like the "keep it simple stupid" (KISS) approach...Pyro and dry ice are way over rated, I agree
Other than a couple of ramps on either side of the stage...and your rock n roll lighting rig...that's it...maybe burn some incense from the rafters (like Tom Petty does) to get that aromatherapy thing going

I would design the stage as a cellblock. With a lot of naked chicks and thugs with guns and booze. Force GNR to dress up like Village People too.

I forgot RUSH have Washing Machines...has anyone ever worked out why? (see the Rush In Rio dvd) Perhaps GNR could come up with something equally random
I didn't like the stage set much at Leeds...it wasn't bad, just not as good as some other bands I've seen. I know its not all about the effects, but you pay good money too see concerts and it doesn't hurt to make an effort!

Like 2002 with ramps instead of steps.. those looked like a pain in the ass and more of a catwalk out to the front I guess..

Telling u guys the thruth Pyros... well... it's boring... nowadays almost every wannabe has it. GOd dammit, Gn'R needs something new and original like... who knows... LIGHTS!!! there's not much to have now... but at the end if it would rain roses all over the stage... damn... that would ROCK!!

I agree about the pyros. From the bootlegs I've seen of the 2002 tour, the only pyro I liked was the rain effect during November Rain. It fit in my opinion. The loud bombs during Live And Let Die didn't.

A huge ass sheet of glass on top of the "mosh pit" part of the arena like in that one AC/DC video where they're playing on top of everybody, and firebreathing Chinese dragons on the sides of the stage. Wearing hockey jerseys and braids.

I liked the pyro during November Rain, and at the end of paradise city, I thought that was pretty cool.

The front row of the arena should be dedicated to Guns N' Roses female admirers... hehe... just kidding
The stage should be extended forward, allowing for members to sorta come out into the audience. Jumbo screens are a must for those in the nose bleeder sections. Pyros are okay, if not over done... and yeah... the band should show up, be on time, and give one hell of a kick ass concert.

I didn't like the steps in the 02 tour. Took a while to get used to Axl doing for example the WTTJ 'do you know where you are?', then slowly walking down the steps to do the rest of the intro..
I'd prefer it all on one level too like RIR3.
