If you think about it, it is exclusive.

1. Now we know Tommy would support a reunion.

I remember from the radio interview he did very recently, he said something like...the only reunion tour he'd ever go to is if The Clash got back together [I'm speaking from memory].  But it's still interesting to know that he does support an original GNR reunion.

Now where's Freya?  She's supposed to come here and say how Tommy's description of Axl fits her theory of Borderline Personality Disorder.... Freya?  freya?  Tongue

"hairs bedth"

How long is this I wonder. What...One, maybe two years.

Besides, I don't see how it can only be a "hairs bedth" when Axl only recorded vocals on 2 tracks. Slash said he knew that for a fact? Wink

hairsbreadth

SYLLABICATION: hairs?breadth

PRONUNCIATION: AUDIO: h?rzbrdth     KEY

VARIANT FORMS: hair's-breadth also hair?breadth (h?r-)

NOUN: A small space, distance, or margin: won by a hairsbreadth.

 Huh

Most fans of gnr always went to see Axl.
Ask slash or duff, they always got pissed because the fans always chanted for Axl, or at the air port Axl always got mobed but not them.

Any particular specific instances you'd care to cite to verify Slash or Duff "getting pissed"?

Just facts please.

Hardly factual.?

Show me a specific instance Slash or Duff voicing resentment towards their bandmates fame please.? ?

Something in the vein of "I can't believe Axl gets all the attention, I'm really getting pissed"..

You first asked for a specific instance that would verify that notion. It was provided.

You dont have to believe it but that is an example.
And its quite obivious Axl was the attention getter in GNR. Hes the frontman. NAturally hes going to get most of the attention. And being that he is one of rocks greatest he got a little more and then some. That doesnt mean SLash and company were nothing or that they didnt mean anything to gnr, its just that overal,l Axl and his popularity was far greater than the rest of the band. Its just reality.

I wouldnt say it was "far" greater, but I agree Axl was the main attraction for a lot of people even in the original GNR.  For many people however, it was the dynamic between Axl & Slash that made it a great band.  Great frontman coupled with a great lead guitarist is the stuff legends are made of.

But if Tommy has this feeling that "people come to see one person", I cant argue with it because in the last tour, they played mostly old songs.  If the public only sees them cover AFD songs, then of course they'll just view them as hired guns.

Once they release new material, I hope they all feel they are important to the band.

I wonder though if Robin feels the same way as Tommy.  His role as lead guitarist tends to have more weight.   Unlike Tommy and BH, Robin has not released any recent solo work (not to my knowledge anyway), so maybe he feels he's 'in' GNR as opposed to 'with' GNR, or 'still with' GNR.

my friends who are not as big GN'R fans as me seem to be of the conception that Slash was just as much a frontman as Axl, and that's why some of them was horrified when they saw one of the 2002 gigs I have on DVD, saying like "what is this? Slash was half the show! the guys he's got in the band now just stands there!"
one of the guys I play with now and then had the opinion that as long as Slash and Axl was in the band they could still have called themselves GN'R, but not Axl alone.
this is what seems to be the opinion of the average fan from my experiences.

I think it was great to see Tommy has respect for the old band by saying what he did. it made me respect him more! ok

Agreed. BUt we are discussing popularity not what made gnr great. Its not an insult to the other members that Axl was more popular. Yes, they were all popular but Axl was the main attraction for most.

Once the new band releases the album, they will beign to pick up new fans and old fans. As a result, it will become more of their band.

Duff or Slash would never openly say something like that.

To verify the original "getting pissed" theory, which was what I was looking for, proof would have to come in a quote from Slash or Duff voicing their displeasure, (not some random Axl rambling) otherwise it's just speculation.? As for Slash or Duff "never openly saying something like that", why wouldn't they?? I can think of other specific instances with other bands and their members voicing their displeasure with the attention their front person was getting (No Doubt is a prime example), so a quote from Slash or Duff voicing their jealousy isn't too much to ask.

You first asked for a specific instance that would verify that notion. It was provided.

Its not thier fault Axl is holding onto the album for whatver reasons. How is that their fault? Their work is done. They are simply waiting. ANd guess what...in the waiting process, the members have jammed and helped out on each others albums and tours. They are all friends.
