Well, they did use the same stage, sorta.  The "stage change" took almost an hour, though.  Metallica had a mosh pit in the center of the stage that was closed up for the guns set.  Axl's ramp was added.  In addition, Guns had some additional stage dressing (the UYI I and II banners that were HUGE, etc) that was brought out for their set.

FYI, the Foxboro show that I went to is STILL the best concert I've ever been to.

Oh man - and of course Axl was 4 hours late to every show. Damn i couldn't wait that long - not even for GNR, esp considering how hot it gets at any gig..........

Actually, they weren't THAT late that night....and remember, we were outside, and it was early September for our show (which was a makeup show...due to first Hatfields accident and then an Axl voice issue).? Not too hot.

The show started with Faith No More at around 3:30 PM-ish (this from memory, FYI, so I could be WAY off).? Metallica went on about 5:30 or 6 PM...played til about 8 - 8:30 PM.? Guns took the stage about 10 PM and played til around 12:30-ish.? Fucking awesome show.

Funny story goes along with it, too:  The show was on a Friday night.  I live, as many of you know, in CT.  The show was in Foxboro, MA...about 3+ hours away from me.  Show ended around 12:30-ish and we drove back to CT.  I was slated to start a BRAND NEW JOB at 7 AM, sharp, the next morning.  I rolled into the house about 4:30 AM, got about 2 hours sleep, and headed off to work...still "altered" from the night's show.  The manager (who was a cool fuck) took a look at me and said "WTF happened to YOU?".  I told the story and he said, basically "You went to a Guns n Roses Concert last night, and STILL showed up this morning for work?  Go home, get some sleep, I'll see you tomorrow."   So I did.  And he paid me for the day, anyway.

Man, I wish I could find that WHOLE show (Faith, Metallica, and Guns) with good audio out there...
