Everytime I? watch the use your illusion live dvd's I think while everyone in the band, especially Axl, is on top of their game the show seems to be missing something. I finally realized it's the crowd at the tokyo dome. They're just very reserved, I guess as part of the culture. I just think the whole deal coulda been much better if shot somewhere else. You could here someone fart from the nosebleed seats in between songs it's so quiet and they're all dressed like they're on their way to work. Wondering if anyone else agrees with this.

Geffen: World's tightest record company.

Tokyo Show: Recorded and edited by Japanese TV channel.

Simple really.

I think instead of releasing that they should have put out either Paris 1992 or The Ritz 1988

Now I really want to see a 2002 dvd smoking

It was a very unimpressive concert. I've seen better performances on each song. A Vegas '01 DVD or an MSG '02 DVD would have been so much better...

I noticed the same thing - the crowd suck - they just stand there - it is a very good performance and always great to see a pro-shot concert

Axl was being nice when he said "This is the loudest crowd so far" lol yeah but they were dead agreed they should have released France 1992, The Ritz 1988 or maybe Vegas 01, Rio III, MSG 2002.

I agree i like the sound quality but the audience are lifeless. One of my favorite concerts is the 17 july 93 at the riverplate argentina. I love the four song sit on the couch section half way through

I know on crappy old VHS you couldnt put the whole thing on one tape. And they can make more money by selling it as two DVD's, but I would of prefered it to of been edited better for the DVD. Make it all on one DVD, cut the shit inbetween the songs with the interviews and what not out (put them somewhere else accesible or as "easter eggs" on the dvd) I just don't get into those concerts. With the junk inbetween the songs and having only half of the good songs on one and half on the other having to switch back and forth it doesnt seem like a "real concert". I prefer my RIR3 bootleg or Ritz 88, because you can sit there and get in vibe with them. I like the uninterupted concert.

And what's with the poor sound quality on the DVDs.  It doesn't sound that great

They didn't do shit all with the DVD's, nothing.

I had them in '93, except that it was in a linear format, tape actually.

I don't know why everyone keeps acting like releasing a "NuGnR" DVD was ever a consideration. All Geffen was doing was transfering their current video catalog to from VHS to DVD. Besides, Axl is never going to let an official release out with versions of songs that will (might) appear on Chinese Democracy.
