I agree that these dates mean nothing postive or negative about Chinese Democracy.

If Axl decides he needs the band for any reason in Sept. or Oct., the dates will obviously be cancelled.
Regardless, even if Chinese Democracy comes out in November, a tour may not necessarily follow for several weeks and/or months, so the other members could probably play their side gigs through the end of 2004.

The best part about Dizzy and Tommy touring is if all of the sudden both get cancelled, then we'll all know what that means! This should be the best and only way we should  use to know for sure it's coming. I don't mean that in any negative way to either one.

Tommy's tour ends on 9/15 and Dizzy's tour has a break between 9/19 and 10/22.  

I also remember something a month or so ago on this board where it was mentioned that the bandmates were told that their attendance or presence would not be needed until October. <----- Does anyone else remember this?

This seems to fit in with the whole November possibility.  I will say that some type of promotion or at least an announcement needs to start by the end of August for a November release.  If there is no announcement or promotion by September 1, then two possibilities exist:

1.   CD is not coming out in November

or

2.   The album won't be promoted well (which I find very unlikely after a proported $13 million investment).

I am slightly opptomistic about the November rumor.

I would think if they were getting ready for a huge UYI style world tour they wouldnt want to tour up to November, they would want to take a few months off to rest up for it. This makes me believe there isnt gonna be a tour for awhile

I cannot believe Dizzy is playing the Lions Den here in nyc. I've played there before, the place kinda sucks. I mean, its your typical stage/bar setting, but I cannot believe Dizzy chose THERE....i mean, there are better venues for him to play. I am kinda sure he could play Roseland if he wanted.

Sky, I disagree. I think the absolute latest time for news would be late Sept./October.

Lets say the release is either the 1st or 2nd week of November

That means the single would be out early/mid october.

And prior to the single Im sure we will have a bigass press release regarding everything. So if we dont get a press release by late spet. early oct then we prob wont be seeing CD till the spring/summer of 05.....

The watch should begin in August and it expires sometime in October....thats my target range....

If I were releasing an album in that timeframe I would release on November 23rd. The day after Thanksgiving is the biggest Shopping Day in the United States and thats the 26th.

That way it gets promoted for two weeks in the major flyers, It would also be the largest display people say running into a Best Buy at 8:00 A.M. on Black Friday

 Some of the places Dizzy played on his last East Coast jaunt were less-than-glamourous. Though that made none of the shows any less enjoyable from the one i saw and the others I heard about. Contrary to popular opinion, being the keyboardist from a band that hasn't realeased anything in 10 years does not make you an 'in demand act' nor does it mean you're raking in dough during this hiatus. Dizzy and Co. go out there every show and bust there ass to get crowds into their sets and buy shirts, and get tickets to the next show, and get promoters interested. I respect what Dizzy is doing and all the hard work he's putting into this side project while Axl cobbles the various parts of his brain together to produce a product. It ain't always glamorous, but Dizzy is doing it and doing it right
