Many people have commented on their avatars disappearing;
Your problem is the avatar you're trying to use is over 70x70 pixels.  The board doesn't resize them so you're going to have to do it yourselves, use a program like Microsoft Photo editor, Adobe Photoshop even Paint works.  Upload the new resized avatar to a server that allows direct linking and you wont have any problems.

Wasn't it 100x100 pixels before?  Every picture I find is either too small or too big.

I think it was 70x70 on the old board, but it automatically resized the ones that were too large  Wink

Use ' Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0' and resize it to 70x70. Then upload it to your MSN photo album.  If you don't have one start one. Grin

No, not this computer anyway. I'm not on my 'normal' computer.

And probably won't be for a while.

see i've found this avatar, if you can still see it.

how do i resize .gif files.

it seems impossible. adope photoshop turns it into a mess, and microsoft photo view just turns it into a one frame gif.

this is getting very annoying.

any programs i should try?

c'moooooooooon........look at the crazy office dancing, don't you want to see it survive on this board  rofl

I use "Microsoft photo editor" to resize any pictures.

There must be better programs, tho.

If you post your images, I?ll try to resize them.

Jarmo,  is there any chance you'll one day make our avatars larger? 70X70 is a pain in the ass!

The thing is (I think) that although a lot of people have good connections, it would take a lot longer for the dial up people to load the forum pages making it a pain in the ass for them.

Maybe, but the way I see it, avatars are just there for people as a way to identify certain posters, let people make a statement etc. It's not supposed to be something that people pay more attention to than the posts.

It's easier for me if there's a maximum size than to be telling certain people that they need to resize their avatars because they're too big.
