We had a thread on this a month or so - Patton is a truly amazing vocalist, its a shame he doesn't settle on one project and really make a go of it - Faith no more's 'Real thing' and 'Angel Dust' are fantastic

Angel Dust was the shit!

"A small victory..........." Love that shit!
Most definately but as for The Real Thing i just don't see what the big thing is aside from the albums singles i think it sucks.  Don't get me wrong i think Patton is great and really love Mr. Bungle [im yet to check out his other projects] but The Real Thing just doesn't do it for me and when it's talked about as their best album it really pisses me off.  Mr. Bungle is ace though i think California is better than Disco Volante yes

The big thing about The Real Thing is that it's sheer brilliance from start to finish. The only weakish track is The Morning After, but that aside.. Songs like Woodpecker From Mars and Surprise! You're Dead! kick so much ass it's ridiculous Smiley

That whole album rules! Even though its not as varied as their others, its incredible! I like Zombie Eaters.

Alright guys, you have to help me out. I started listening to FNM after that "Axl vs Other Vocalists" thread where you guys recommended Mike Patton. I listened to Easy, Midlife Crisis,  Edge of the World and A Small Victory and those are absolutely awesome. Now, can some of you recommend songs similar to those that he has done...I've dl'd some other songs by him where it sounds like he is rapping, I have yet to start appreciating them. TIll then, can you name a few good songs where his vocal talent shines?

See, I'm only familiar with Faith No More. I've been meaning to listen to more Tomahawk, seeing as they supported Tool, and I loved what I heard. But I'm such a lazy faggot.

Everything's Ruined for best song they ever did?

seems to me from the above posts that FNM's King for a day....album doesn't receive it's just due...it's terribly underrated from critics and fans alike...Happen to be a huge Patton fan...Heard all of his bands and collected most of his one-offs....Was fortunate enough to see Bungle 5 times (4 on Cali tour, one Sno-core show).....I managed to meet Patton 2 nights in a row at Irving Plaza, NYC in '99...really nice guy, although seems a bit stand-offish initially....That night at Irving was amazing...First time seeing Bungle, and I actually had the opportunity to hang out with Trey Spruance for a good half-hour plus...Peeping Tom has been perrenially delayed, but hopefully it'll see the light of day in '05, along wiith another Fantomas release...

Not to sway too far off topic (although in theory I really am), but what do you guys think of Chuck's work with the band?

I, personally....

...Think that they did record some really good songs.

Chuck was a stylist not a true singer - he was the art in the art-rock band Faith No More was at the time

Popular opinion says his firing was due to smoking too much crack and watching too much porn which affected his ability to write or perform

Yeah, I'm lead to believe that....
Although, Introduce Yourself features some kick ass songs, such as We Care A Lot (obviously), Anne's Song and Crab Song. They're all pretty much up there with FNM's best.

Actually I prefer the We Care A Lot Album to Introduce Yourself.  We Care A Lot had "As The Worm Turns" on it!

Mike talked shit about Axl at the shows and in the press. It was the GNR/Metallica/FNM tour

When James Hetfield caught fire on stage the tour was delayed - through contractual obligation Faith No More had to do the make-up dates and the US tour for Angel Dust got screwed.  I think FNM tried to get kicked off the tour by insulting Axl a lot - I don't remember Patton ever apologizing to Axl though.  I doubt that happened.

Searching 'bout on old t'internet i found this which i found amusing, it's a limited edition part of a Faith No More bootleg, even though plenty of copies of the CD were available this was only supposedly avaiable with 10 copies; Translated as I Vomit In The Asshole Of Axl Rose hihi
