Gypsy note:  The pic of Axl is from an article about the judge not granting the HR release injunction.  Since that's old news, I'm using it here.

From Blabbermouth, sorry if its already been posted elsewhere

VH1's GUNS N' ROSES Special Breathes New Life Into 'Greatest Hits' CD - July 23, 2004

Billboard magazine is reporting that VH1's "Behind The Music" special on GUNS N' ROSES appears to have injected new life into the group's "Greatest Hits" album, which earned a Greatest Gainer award this week with a 69% improvement over prior-week sales, leaping 30 places to No. 21 on The Billboard 200 chart. The cable-show also lifted related band VELVET REVOLVER by 14%, the first gain its "Contraband" has seen since it bowed at No. 1 five weeks ago. And the first GN'R album, "Appetite For Destruction", re-entered the Top Pop Catalog with a 155% increase, its first time on that chart since April.

Seems like the record company have a lot to thank VH1 for! Perhaps the November 'rumour' was simply sensationalism to try and push record sales up.

Doubt it, b/c , as has been talked abotu here ad-nauseum, noboday affiliated with the orginal band wanted GH out. And the November release date was a quote to vh1 from managament, as we know now, denied by management.

PS: A manager at the store I work at bought GH a few weeks ago. She was like, "Yeah I love it...by why wasn't Estranged on there? It's like their greatest song!"---Just shows you even causual fans know a little something.  Wink
