Coma on Live era
«
on:

Is Coma on Live era somewhere or is there a special version with it on?
I only ask because
www.gnrinfo.tk
seems to think so:
"Coma" on "Live Era" is probably taken from the show in Omaha, Nevada, on April 10th, 1992.
If there is a Live era with Coma on - how do i get it?

Eh? If i knew everything about GNR i wouldn't need to check the site would i? *resists urge to put rolling eyes smilie......must....resist........*
Thanx Fieldsy - i have bootlegs with Coma on already (somewhere) but i'd love a Live era with Coma on - Live era feels kinda incomplete without GNR's best song....

I'll have to disagree with you on that one. It's good in places but some parts, particularly towards the finale, are a bit messy. Axl's struggles to keep up.

And now I have to disagree with YOU. Put it on at loud volumes, imagine yourself in the midst of the music. And then enjoy. It's fantastic. You are wrong. Opinion doesn't count here. You are wrong and I am oh so right.

COMA is also in the American vinyl version of Live Era. I saw it at a record store in Minneapolis once and didn't buy it...because I am a moron.

The Coma soundboard from Chicago is the best, although they both are good. Coma is my favorite GNR song. Slash's solo kicks ass and then Axl finishes the song with pure lyrical genius. These 2 guys working together are unstoppable.

Considering on the studio recording, the last 2 and a half minutes or so are edited so there no space to take a breath, anyone who could keep up would be quite incredible. Who can sing for 2 minutes without breathing?

Steven's drumming made the band; he made a big musical difference. His sense of swing was the push and pull that gave those songs their feel, afterwards, nothing worked.

Its a fuckin' amazing song and that version rocks!!! A while back my brother gave away some of my CDs to his friends and they were never seen again. Could've killed him. GnR Live Era was amongst those CDs so I had to replace it. I had originally bought the European version of the CD in a record shop but on buying a replacement I decided to use the internet. And low and behold I found out about the Japanese version which I was delighted to purchase. It's a song I had always imagined one day hearing live when I first bought UYI1 on its release, another very exciting day that was. I remember turning up the real quiet bit of the song really fucking loud and turning out all the lights, that song is great in complete darkness, and getting lost in the whole thing. Anyway the live version would've been amazing to watch. They did real fuckin' well getting that tune organised on stage, especially in their conditions. Maybe Duff didn't drink too much that day
They just fuckin' rocked. Gonna listen to it again now, its been a while

Actually, if you watch him on that, you can tell that he was smart enough to leave himself a couple of breathing points in there. I always thought he did it by multi-tracking, but watching him do it live definitely makes it more impressive. By comparison, the Richfield version is not as good - you can tell it's under-rehearsed. They open with it, and at the end Axl says they just wanted to hear what it sounded like.
