I doubt he reads this. What possible good will it do him to spend his time reading rumours/opinions? As far as the whole "Here today...gone to Belgium" thing, one of his publicists probably told him that there is a loyal site dedicated to him, and it would be a good idea to agknowledge his fans. Don't mean to rain on people's parade, but that's the most probable scenario.

I'm sure he's seen to the site before. It's too tempting not to come and check out what's going on. I'm sure he probably had to put a stop to going on the net just because of how annoying it must have been for him.
