Well fuck me... here we go again.

 hihi

Let's assume he's right this time and it will be released in "early 2005".  But when was Tommy supposed to be touring with all his other bands?  I thought he was booked the whole year.  And isnt he going to promote his solo album?

Naupis, the whole thing is pure comedy. November my ass...as usual now we are moving in to early 05 then spring then a big summer tour then xmas 05. What a complete joke. Tommy should shut the fuck up or just say " I have absolutely no idea when the album is going to come out-that is Axl's call. In the meantime, I am releasing my own record and touring." Roll Eyes

Then what little publicity he has would completely disappear.

I could swear some of you don't even read this message board.

November was a date given by the label/management as a target date. There is nothing unbelievable about that, and so people are thinking this is positive news. After all isn't it?

Nobody here said "it's definitely happening in November". or as Naupis says:
Quote
To think it was just a week ago most of the lemmings around here were wetting themselves that CD starts in November....must be nice to live in blissful ignorance like that.

And now Tommy says end of year/early 2005. End of November is practically the end of the year. It basically confirms that November is a target, but as we all knew already that could be delayed.

i think tommy was being sarcastic with the ego management and those comments

he said late this year or early 2005

that coincides with what we've heard, early 2005 could be in case they hit some sort of snag in the mixing process

an album has to be issued to a label by a certain date in order to be released in november, i know this cause Creed talked about it on the "weathered" cd, and said they had like 2 weeks to mix it to get it out in time

so if the mixing goes smooth we could have it in nov, if it hits some snags, early 2005, i take that as being positive

some of u people jump off and on the bandwagon faster than anything ive ever seen before

just relax!

I think those comments were very focused and were specifically about BUCKETHEAD. ok

The album is going to come out eventually.  I doubt it will come out in November, but no later than spring/summer of 05'.

November is 4 months away.  It's not happening, no way.  Christmas is 5-6 months away.  Once again, doubtful it will be out then.  it's likely to come out after that.

There are the legal issues, which ARE big deal.  They also have to book a tour. Set up promotion etc.

if it were to come out in November, then we would have had to have some sort of statement now.

Everyone talks about these legal issues, they must not be that big a deal because Slash/Duff are also involved in all of them yet they have been able to release a #1 album and tour in that same time span. Its not like Axl is the one huddled away in a legal library somewhere devising a defense strategy looking for case precedents. We need to get off this already.

Next year he is going to be 43 years old.....his window of being a viable rock star not viewed as being over the hill is closing big time. Yet there is no sense of urgency to get out there and do it while they still can before being viewed as a novelty act in the same realm as the stones and aerosmith.

If its not out by November, then they have to wait until at least march to let the post christmas season lull pass. We all know with the way this band operates, the more time they have to release the album, the better the likelihood that something goes wrong. March is 9 months from now.....something will most certainly go wrong between now and then......Axl is an accident waiting to happen. Someone will quit, or he'll sue someone again, or something will leak.....there is no doubt something like this will happen and all of the Axl defenders will get on here and chalk it up to bad luck and say just wait, in another year and a half CD will take over the world.

Its just an album, 50 albums worth of material or not, there is no need to spend 8-9 years making 15 songs perfect enough to put on a CD and release them. It just does not take that long.

The legal issues are not Axl related, but Guns N' Roses related, so Velvet Revolver is not affected by them.

Estranged-

No shit their not VR related. Most of them are involving the partnership suit.....which all three are involved in, the Hollywood Roses suit....which all 3 were in, the old greatest hits suit.....which alll 3 were in.

My point was that most of the legal problems Axl is having, Slash Duff are having as well because of the GNR relation and whatnot.

Just because you have pending litigation does not debilitate you like it does Axl. People around here think because you have a court case pending you can't do anything, I was just pointing out that Slash/Duff are perfect examples of people who can handle both a music career and a court room.....it is possible.

Only one thing left: when will we give up waiting? I've been fuckin' waiting for this album since Matt Sorum said in early 1993 that it would be released in 1994. It didn't happen. If they don't release it next year, I will give up. If it wasn't our band, we would be laughing all the time on what a loser band it is, and the fans are completely idiots, because they can't face the fact it will never come out. 2005 or never...

Tommy and DIzzy are the best non-political politicians...they have mastered the vague, non-committal answer Tongue. Oh, Well. There's still 5 months left in the year, we'll see.

We'll never quit waiting. Its not like we're sitting in the record store waiting and life is on hold. We'll just continue to exist and do as is with no new GNR material. The whole thing is ridiculous because there are most certainly 15 songs in the bunch that could make a killer CD, and to waste the prime of your musical life is equally ridiculous. It is embarassing to be a fan of the new GNR as there is nothing to tell people to even justify why you like them other than that they are an above average cover band since they won't release an album. I would like to get some friends into GNR, but what, am I supposed to give them bootlegs of the new band covering old songs. I mean the whole thing blows. 1 album, 15 or so songs is all we ask. I refuse to believe after 8-9 years there aren't enough songs there to release something.

contraband is a good not great cd, i would rather axl take 6 years and make a cd on par with afd and uyi than rush and make a cd like contraband

contraband is a great cd, i listen to it bout everyday but where i listen to afd and uyi's 13 years after i bought them, and i listen to the blues, maddy,cd,oh my god, and even silk worms 3 years after i heard them, i cant say contraband will be in rotation in my cd player this time next year

good cd but not a classic memorable cd ill be spinning for years and years

so i want axl to get it right

writing one perfect song is hard, so 15 or 16 perfect songs will be amazing and worth the wait!, as long as he releases it before i die ill be happy!

We'll never quit waiting.

When I said waiting I meant caring about the band and reading message boards. I'm sure I will know that the album is released without reading 'news'. GN'R and the 'new album' is still a part of my life in a daily base, but I'm close to end this. I will only listen the old songs, won't disturb myself by the actual 'release date' expectations, 'cause it will be a Guiness record if this album is ever released so even political newspapers will report that. It's not a threat, 'cause Axl and the Nu-GN'R doesn't need me, doesn't even know that I' on the world, doesn't even care to respond fans' self-censored questions. It's just a feeling, but it has never been this strong.
