Essential glam-era Bowie:
Hunky Dory
The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust And the Spiders From Mars
Aladdin Sane
Diamond Dogs

Low is a great album as well
One of my all-time favourite concerts at Hammersmith was an almost non-stop 3 hour Bowie gig in 2002 - fkn brilliant.

I have decided that
Scary Monsters is my favorite album by him.
My reasoning? He combines the raw glammy rock n roll of his Ziggy era with the atmospheric synths n slightly depressing atmosphere of the Berlin trilogy.
Thoughts?

Great album,
But I'll forever be hooked on the Hunky Dory - Diamond Dogs stuff.
God I wish Bowie would perform again, I saw photos of him at his son's movie premier and he is definitely showing his age now. He was amazing on the 04 tour supporting Reality (great album). I was in NYC when he came out and sung with Ricky Gervais at his comedy show and did Little Fat Man. Come on Bowie...one more tour!

I wonder if he ever performs/records again. It has been an eternity since Reality.
If that was his goodbye, atleast he did it with style; it is such a great album, one of his best since Scary Monsters even.
I do miss being able to look forward to new Bowie album/tour

I am so glad I saw a Bowie thread on here! Bowie is one of my favorites, and Ive been hoping for a new album/tour. Who knows, it could happen.
Also, Station to Station is one of my favorite albums. It's hard to choose, but that, Ziggy, Aladdin and Heroes are always on constant rotation.

Fun Fact: In October of 1989, Guns N' Roses film a video for the Appetite for Destruction track "It's So Easy" at the Cathouse.
During the shoot, which includes Axl's then-girlfriend Erin Everly decked out in bondage gear, a drunk David Bowie shows up
and proceeds to hit on her, setting Rose off. "That was when David Bowie was in the band Tin Machine," recalled Rachtman
in an interview with Yahoo. "So Axl was running [down the street], yelling, 'I'm gonna kill you, Tin Man!'"
