Loved Axl from the beginning.

I think all or most of us should somehow, somewhere come together and have like a GNR Memorial or remeberance. Everyone get together and play all the GNR music, talk about its meaning for us, unite with other wacky folks like ourselves, since we all admit we don't hardly have anyone but here to talk about it with.  Get together once a year or so.

Maybe if we gather they will come. (and ROCK us all)

Any thoughts? I know its probably fantastical but our devotion is kindof turning into a dreamlike state. You have to admit if we did   that would be cool.

Who would have ever thought it would come to this? Out of anybody in the world that had contact with these guys? Talking about "remembering" them before they are evn physically dead. It's just so...unbelieveable. In 1985, if you knew who they were, seeing them play in clubs, or living the way they were, you either thought one of two things: "Man, I've never seen anything like this shrieking redhead. These guys are insane." Or, "Jesus! I wonder if these guys will even be able to walk out of here tonight. They'll all be dead before the next Crue album hits the shelves!"

Then in '86, it was "Well, this demo is okay...shows potential, these guys will probably be one-hit wonders or something, they're great at covering Aerosmith, but it'd be nice to see them do something on their own." Then of course Appetite For Destruction hits, is one of the best albums ever, and it becomes "These guys are legends. I knew them all the way back...I've been there since the beginning! Two years ago!" Lies hits. "Patience is an amazing song. And that One In A Million?! Damn, these guys are troublemakers! I love it." Then finally, the Illusion albums hit.

Izzy leaves. It goes to "Well, Izzy was good, but if any band can replace him it's this one, and hey, like Axl says, 'Fuck Izzy Stradlin, here's Gilby Clarke!'" The Spaghetti Incident? hits. "Well, this is a decent album, but they're capable of much better. I just know the next thing they'll put out will destroy everything else in music history. Or now they'll all kill each other or something. That Snakepit...that stuff could be the future or rock!"

Everybody's pissed because nothing's happening, the state of music sucks...then finally, some news in '96. Slash is gone. "Well, who cares, we still got Duff! And Axl did a good job replacing that Izwald...whatever his name was, right?" Then in '99, Live Era comes out. "This is great...Axl sounds like a million bucks, just like on that old live album they put out covering Aerosmith. Can't be a coincidence." Axl does Rolling Stone, mentioning Chinese Democracy. "Fuckin' alright! Axl's gonna shake the foundation of entertainment all the way through the next millenium!" Then we get to hear "Oh My God". The vibe goes to "Well, no wonder Axl kicked Slash out! That sucks!"

Then, nothing. Unofficial delay after unofficial delay. Then out of nowhere, the 2002 VMAs. "Finally! Axl's back, motherfuckers! He's saying 'Soon isn't the word' so he can surprise us again and put it out on Thanksgiving, next month! What a great businessman!" Then the tour gets yanked barely into December, and now this. Nothing, with no end in sight. It's like a bottomless pit. And it's the one thing damn near NOBODY saw coming. Either they were the best band ever and would stay on top forever, they'd flame out and die of drug overdoses, Axl would rise again with Chinese Democracy and blow everybody away...but surely not "Well they're just going to fade off into obscurity, making some public movement and starting new bands that flame out almost as quickly as they start, and we'll never see that crazy redhead again."

this is craziness, everyone is still alive and we still have music, try to use your energy on something more important than a rock band, like helping at the center for kid's who can't read good and wanna do other things good too.

I didn't mean for it to sound like a death memorial.
I meant that if they won't give us a concert or album/cd we should just have our own thing. Maybe a get-together of some quantity would show that we are still rallying for Axl and GNR. If it was a great big thing it would be hard to pull off given the worldwide mob that we are. HAHA. Maybe many small things.  It was to show unity and that we are still here, not to mourn but to rise up and say 'Hell Yeah, we're still rocking' with them, even if they aren't still rocking for us.
Maybe even show the head dogs that we want it no matter what.
All I know is GNR came and gave some awesome music a huge kick in the heavy metal ass. There isn't anything awesome anymore. Axl needs to pass out another kick in the ass of music.

yeah, maybe you should call it a gunner convention or something, they have those in certain places, and i think the head dogs know how much we want some new music, the real question is whether axl cares, you dig?
