On the Use Your Illusion II studio release of "Knockin on Heaven's Door", the piano is not listed in the players' credits under the lyrics.  Does anyone know who played on the studio version of this song?  Dizzy?  Axl?   Huh

Axl did. Dizzy only sat in on the sessions. They talk about it on the making of Nov rain. Axl did all the work on the Ill. and Dizzy sat in.

you can correct me if I 'm wrong.

I think you are thinking about the Making Of Estranged where Dizzy talks about playing the song live but Axl played it on the Album. I think Dizzy did the Piano work for All tracks.......Except for Estranged (and only backing parts in November Rain)

I'm pretty sure Axl plays piano on Breakdown as well.  And probably a few other songs off of the albums.  I don't have the liner notes in front of me.

You are wrong; Dizzy played some of the keyboards on the UYI albums, "Civil War" comes to mind first.

As Coma said, you are thinking of "Estranged" only; Axl said Dizzy sat in on the recording and learned how to play it live.

So we're still in the dark as to who plays on KOHD, because the album credits (and the ones on Jarmo's wonderful site Wink ) do not list who plays piano on it.

I stand corrected. Thank you. After I thought about it that sounded pretty dumb. Just call me dumb ass.
Sorry Lisa

I remember seeing a live version of it (not in person), and Axl had no instrument except a microphone.

I like the Ritz version of KOHD better without the piano.
