I've received word from a source that Universal Music is currently looking at a fourth quarter release for the long awaited, long delayed Guns N Roses opus Chinese Democracy. The source states: "As far as I know the album is complete, but Axl is still holding up it's release." Time will tell...
http://www.melodicrock.com/

I tend to believe Mel Rock, but I am sure that by the 4th quarter there will be yet another delay and it won't get released.

Wonder why every rumor has a different record label? Wouldn't geffen be the one's to decide when it will be released? I thought the only role universal had in gn'r was the distribution.

But hopefully he's right, although i wouldn't get my hopes up, 5 months is plenty of time for another delay.

dude Ive been hopeing for CD forever know and hopefully it comes out this year. I would be so happy if it did cause I need it, having said that I am not inclined to believe anything  at this moment unless it comes from axl himself and Im sure that there will be another delay, there always is.

That tells you about the label. Geffen is part of the Universal Music Group.

Also how do we know that all this november information isn't coming from one source. Doenst sound right

Not necessarily. They also said Roth was back in Van Halen about 15 times in the past two years, and obviously that never happened. If they're looking for a fourth quarter release, and it's done but Axl won't give it up, why the hell are they looking for a fourth quarter release? Are they all going to storm his house and steal it from him? Another lawsuit against him?

Wait, how could the album be complet? Slash said Axl only recorded vocals on 2 tracks.  Roll Eyes

Axl performed more than 2 songs with vocals in the Chinese Democracy Tour a couple years back. Also, we have heard from Tommy Stinson that the album is finished and it's just a matter of legal issues.

I know Chinese Democracy will come out whether it's in 2004 or 2040.

Whoa... Slash doesn't know anything man. He knows what we do. They do not talk, and I believe that they don't. He said he knows for a fact that Axl has 2 tracks with vocals? That may of been before Gn'R broke up, that might be including Oh My God and Blues or Madagascar. Who knows what he meant.

What is for sure is that Slash is an Axl hater and he doesn't care. He doesn't know what is going on either. So fuck Slash as far as that is concerned.

To the defense of melodicrock, which is a site I've read for many years, Roth DID attempt to reunite with VH, but it fell apart.  So the reports on the VH/Roth collaboration at some point in the last few years is true, it just didn't work and we never heard any music from it.

Having said that, this is far less of a claim than the VH/Roth thing.  This is just a "CD may come out this fall" rumor, not a detailed report of plans for it's release, so I wouldn't read too much into it.

well, I wouldn't trust my life with the site or anything, but they do seem to be somewhat reputable. I dunno, there's been A LOT of buzz lately pointing to a November/Q4 release.

Yeah, but that has happened just about every year since 96, when CD was supposed to be released in time for Christmas  hihi

Well, we have Mysteron saying nothing has been set, and  some message boards and music sites all pointing tentatively to a 4th qtr release though mel rock is the only one I'd call reliable. I guess it's a question of who you beleive, if you believe anyone. Or perhaps both are right or wrong, and it's all still in Axl's hands yes.

I agree.  But how fucking great would it be if CD actually came out this year?  I just can't imagine it happening any time soon, just because of all the let downs over the last 5 years.  But we can hope.

the answer to this rumor is in melodicrock's name

"crock" as in crock of shit!

axl may have the record finished he might not, but i can guarantee u that Axl will break the news, not rolling stone, not tommy, not slash hihi not anyone but axl, when axl has a press conference etc and announces it all, then ill get my hopes way up but still with axl it could be a week b4 release and he get cold feet and pull it

just because axl played 3 or 4 songs with vocals on the tour doesnt mean he's recorded those vocals for the cd

i have tons of songs i play for people that i havent recorded so anything with axl is possible

i say by next summer we will have it! im so confident that if we dont have it by next summer ill leave the board till it comes out!

and i know mcgann i should be bald rightnow lol but thats different , this is my hair here! i aint cuttin it! rofl

The fact that he has lyrics for more than 2 songs doesnt necessarily mean that he has recorded them on studio.
