dmoz is run by volunteers who keep the directory as up to date as they can...anyone can submit their site to dmoz and it is usually accepted...the person who submitted the official site to the directory entered that release date information into a form...that information wouldnt have been changed by the volunteers in any major way...although it could be a typo...so logically someone from the official site must think the release date is november 2004...

It's right there, next to a link to GNR Online: "Includes news, tour dates and information on Chinese Democracy due November 2004." Don't bother reading too much into this, since as Nimoy already pointed out, somebody probably just drew the release date out of a hat when submitting the site. If you must, you can always ask the category editor (goes by the name of gaz with this one) to remove it from the description. There's a link in the bottom of the page where you can mail him.
