I heard some info on this from my sources!!!!!!!!!!!!

Axl Rose now owns the name Velvet Revolver!  According to my sources, Scott Weiland needed some money for crack.... so he sold the name to Axl Rose.

Axl Rose then fired Slash!

Slash is off now to reform Snakepit!  Thank God!

He feels that once again, SNAKEPIT can take over the world of Rock n Roll.

Um yeah leave the smartass replies to the seasoned profressionals.  You should probably just stick to other things such as posting about how "kewl ur newezt gnr rumur rawks"  or something.

Slash was fired by Matt Sorum

Not to get off subject put that picture of Will Farrell is hilarious. That was one of the funniest skits on SNL.

I thought found out after it was on tv that he was replaced

I know...I wasnt sure the point ppbebe was trying to make by posting that (still dont).

The point was that neither Matt nor Slash was lying; rather, Rolling Stone didn't have their facts straight.

Thanks, Dizzy. That?s what I meant. yes
I post that quote with a suspicion that Yagami had read this sort of article.
See, this piece works in the same way as a skit earlier replies of this tread plotted
: If you?re not careful enough you?ll be hypnotized.

I think We?d better accuse those faulty press of telling lies before starting factionalism.

chinablues, apparently the middle line of Dead horse post is a joke  (polly thoughtful of him). Practically it means "who fire who" is +8yrs old dead horse.
Nevertheless, your avatar is extra cool.  ok

Me! because it?s not fair. Journalists or whoever, state their thoughts as facts on purpose or out of ignorance mislead ppl.  We might know what the men themselves're saying, but general RS readers don?t. It?s not funny. On comparison Mysterious posters or Ivan the fool are rather sincere for some obvious reason.
What is their motive for fooling readers? no

Yagami, could you tell us where you got this idea?

All that allows is for Slash to legally say "I left the band", but the truth is, his ass was fired.  "Get out, I don't want you here, goodbye."  If Axl says that, then that means he was kicked out of the band which is the same as fired.

Didn't you read the first time?  Axl could not legally say "get out of the band".  Nor did he.  If Axl had said that, Slash could've just said "Fuck you, I'm not going anywhere."

Slash quit the band, plain and simple.

There's not one ounce of accuracy in your statements.  These are all your Slash-hating delusions.  Not even Axl backs up what you've just said.

It was their [Slash's and Duff's] choice to leave.  Matt was fired, but he came in trying to get fired and told many people so that night.  So you might say everyone who left, left by choice.
--Axl
How do you have 4,000+ posts and still know jack shit?

Bottom line:
Axl held out during the latter part of the UYI tour in his room, refusing to go on until they signed the GN'R name over to him.

Axl says Slash didn't want to work at GN'R's sound.  He would rather just write something when it felt right.  They clashed many times until. . .

Via fax to MTV, Axl Rose issued a statement that said Slash was no longer a part of Guns N Roses due to his lack of "dive in and find the monkey attitde".

This is how Slash found out.

Matt Sorum continued on until he went in and forced Axl to "fire" him.

Duff left in '97 to, "go play in a real rock n' roll band".  He felt like GN'R wasn't going anywhere.

Now, this is all common knowledge to any serious GN'R fan.  I've been following all incarnations of GN'R since '87 and I don't find the need to blast people due to my ignorence on any subject.

Looks like 4,000 posts means you depend on this board for friends and activities.  How pathetic!

No, that's your distorted perception of GNR knowledge.

He said he could no longer work with Slash.  he didn't say "I fired Slash"

And maybe you didn't understand it the previous times I explained it.

NO ONE MEMBER CAN FIRE ANOTHER MEMBER OF THE BAND WITHOUT A MAJORITY VOTE.  THEREFORE, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE FOR AXL TO HAVE FIRED SLASH, BECAUSE SLASH WAS AN EQUAL OWNER IN THE GUNS N ROSER PARTNERSHIP.  PERIOD.

The paper Axl made them sign was NOT a legally binding document until the others quit the band.  It stated that if the band ever broke up, Axl would own the name, and he didn't follow through with it via the legal system until 1997.

If you read Slash's and Duff's lawsuit brief against Axl, that information is contained, because they mentioned that Axl had to exit the initial partnership in order to acquire the rights to the Guns N Roses name.

THAT is "common knowledge" to every GNR fan.  Every informed one, at least.  Try reading a little bit and you'll become one too.

This is how Slash found out.

That is plain wrong.  Nothing more to be said.  Even Axl has made it clear that nobody but Matt Sorum was fired.  Nobody.  I already posted the quotes, do yourself a favor and read them, and cease your uninformed, volatile rants.

Looks like you depend on personal insults to get attention, being that you are incapable of formulating an intelligent counterpoint.  How pathetic.

And I guess that makes Jarmo doubly pathetic, since he has almost twice as many posts as I.

I don't think Axl would have fired Slash or Duff even if he wanted to......Even though the boys say the brother hood wasn't there anymore, they still knew each other for a long time and I don't think Axl would fire those 2 guys.

I always looked at it like Slash and Duff walked while Matt and Gilby were fired.

Those are the facts.  That isn't speculation, that isn't conjecture, that isn't rumor, that isn't "my opinion".  Those are facts.  Matt and Gilby were fired, Duff and Slash quit.  Everybody who bothers to read the material out there knows that.

But for those that are hellbent on remaining ignorant, here are some links.....

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=42

By September 1996, Slash was so miserable that he swore, "I'm going to confront it. Either Paul goes, or..." A month later, Rose announced that Slash had quit the band.

And another.....

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=30

While admitting that ''no one loved the old band more than me,'' Rose sounds convinced he cannot work with his old band mates. Furthermore, he insists that - with the exception of the drummer Steven Adler and his replacement, Matt Sorum - the Gunners walked away and that they were not fired.

And here is the kicker -- straight from Axl Rose's mouth.

http://www.heretodaygonetohell.com/articles/showarticle.php?articleid=28

That was their choice to leave.  Everybody that's gone did it by choice.  Matt was fired, but Matt came in attempting to get fired and told many people so that night.  So it's kind of like everybody left by choice.

Just read the words people, it's not that difficult.  I know it's tough for some of you people to let go of your intense hatred for Slash long enough to read the words and realize that he quit the band and wasn't fired, but the information is there, and it reflects accordingly on you if you choose to ignore it.

All out of context and, furthermore, the 1st article you linked says that Rose had "FULL OWNERSHIP" of the Guns N' Roses name.

Amazing, the facts are in front of you and you still insist on remaining blinded by your Slash-hating ignorance.  As I said, it reflects upon you accordingly.

Ah, more ignorance.  Yes, that's what it says, but one piece of paper does not give Rose full ownership of the GNR name, no matter who signed it.  He had to take it to court to sort through all the legal bullshit, which he did not do until 1997.  That is well-documented.  That means he didn't LEGALLY own the GNR name until AFTER Slash QUIT the band.  Like it or not, those are the facts, though I'm sure you'll continue to dispute them with frivolous arguments, and maybe a personal insult or two thrown in there.

From Jarmo's GNR history timeline...

January, 1997 - Axl buys the rights to the name Guns N' Roses.

Dizzy is correct on all counts.

Great quotes btw.

As far as the comment by the Rolling Stone writer in the referenced article...
this isn't the first time that the media has portrayed that Axl fired (everyone)...
yet, I'm surprised - Rolling Stone having interviewed Axl as recently as Jan 2000, usually gets this right, don't they?

Its not crap its just Axl's vision of what GnR should be. Axl could be compared to Dennis Deyoung of Styx. They were frontmen that had visions for their bands that didnt sit well with the rest of the band. Styx booted Dennis. Everyone left Axl.

I hope he fired the hell out of Matt. Matt talks shit about Axl all the time.  I didnt know GIlby was fired, what was the reason for his firing?

It's probably because he refused to kiss Axls ass like the new band does.
