some things to remember when listening to contraband
«

i was riding my bike tonight listening to contraband and i thought of something
1. this is a rock n roll cd
2. this isnt suppose to be easily digestible pop radio formatted gay shit like the bands out today
3. this cd isnt meant to solve world hunger promote world peace or cure a broken heart, its to rock out with your cock out and its a great driving cd, a great cd to workout to and a great cd to just vibe to and reflect
4.most artist write for themselves if others dig it, great, if they dont oh well, scotts lyrics take getting use to but ill take authentic lyrics i dont understand over lyrics someone just wrote cause they want a hit
5. this isnt guns n roses isnt meant to be guns n roses
i think everyone expected GNR with scott weiland singing, its not, its not suppose to be, and i dig that they are doing something different, its refreshing nothing out right now sounds like it, so i think they've accomplished what they were after
thats my tips on how to have a more enjoyable contraband listening experience!

Yea...but if they just had somebody like Chris Pittman to tie it all together.......
Seriously, I agree with you D. This a a great album. It's rock n roll. Personally I hear GnR in it often. I hear a lot of punk influence too (that's probably Duff more then anything).

Okey, so here I am picturing some big dude jumping around the room, listening to Contraband.............with his cock out
I agree, if what you are saying, is that it's to jam to.....not to overanalyze.
Play it......feel it.....don't disect it!
And D, put your cock back in your pants...............it's disturbing

Acually there's a few new releases that come to mind that bare mention along with "Contraband".
Monster Magnet's new release "Monolithic Baby" is a scorcher along with Josh Todd's "You Made Me" and Courtney Love's "America's Sweetheart".
All three nasty rock records as well..

Courtney Love is a coked out whore. She wanted to be famous and even played Nirvana songs in concert. I was suppose to see her "Hole" band on tour with manson and the bitch dropped off.
Monster Magnet and Josh Todd's newest album is some good pure rock.

Well I thats why I had a ticket but she cancelled on me, I feel the same way about Jane's Addiction. I bought Lollapalooza tickets for their opening day concert. But I paid for them by credit card and cancelled my card after that and since I didnt have my card Tickermaster wouldnt give me a refund. Those are two bands that i wont buy albums from anymore.

It sounds obvious, but it wasnt to me! I didnt realize how different it would sound - the album as a whole, I mean. But Slash & co have proved to me they know how to evolve

Put this in the Top Tips thread in the Jungle.

Don't forget that this is not GNR anymore ! I'm tired of people talking trash about VR saying that Axl is better than Weiland...Stop thinking that contraband will be like AFD, this is not the old GNR band anymore...Scott is not Axl and they didn't want a singer who sound exactly like him...It's so stupid to say that VR would be a better band with Axl on vocals...95% of the bands would be better with axl on mic. Just try to forget that Slash, Duff and Matt are ex-gunners and try to appreciate Velvet Revolver just as a new band...You'll probably love the album if you do so because contraband kicks ass...

I find those lyrics really bland and kinda silly.
Big Machine is probably my least favourite song on Contraband, but I still like the chorus riff and the bridge part is really cool too.
Spectacle is probably my favourite rocker. That song flat out rocks - motherfucker yeah!!!!!!

As long as he's not running around in his front yard with his privates hanging out of his pants...........or.........as long as his curtains are closed while he's doing so in his bedroom..........thank god NO!
Oh, the potential horror of wrestling with a large man with his thing dangling about.........with
Illegal i
cranked up in the background......
