Falling to Pieces sound like a cheesy 80's power ballad. Hope they don't pick it as the next single.  Like to see something rockin or as Duff would say "Dangerous"  hihi Do it for the Kids or Huperhuman....anything but Falling....

Not really. The only thing that kinda reminds me of an 80s power ballad is the SCOM-like riff Slash does... but in that case I guess it would sound like a good power ballad  Grin

Reminds me of ROCKSTAR the movie!
 beer

All the songs apart from Slither, (and maybe a couple more) sound similar- probably cos they are ex-GNR members!

You are soooooooooooo right. The actual singer in that movie was the lead singer of SteelHeart. There  was this one  song that sounds exactly FTP in the movie...

Ya my point exactly!...fukin cheese!!!  beer
The faster tunes on contraband are much better than the slower tunes.  VR should have included izzy on some of the mellower tunes.

Scott should of swallowed some pride and took Izzy's 10 songs in for consideration and put a few of them on CB. Look what Izzy did for AFD. He wrote hell of rocker songs that pump you up.

80's power ballads IMO sounded...whats the word poppy as in pop.

Fall to Pieces is far from that, it sounds very today but structure wise it is like a power ballad but not SOUNDING like 1 and WITHOUT the cheesiness.

I find myself skipping this song before it ends. Looks like it is going to be the next single which sucks.. It's not the worst song but it's just kinda boring to me.  If I liked Slither and was waiting for the next single to see if I was gonna buy this album and FTP was it , I wouldn't do it.

i find myself skipping the song when i hear slash's cheese intro.  Its not a good 2nd single....in my opinion its the worst song on CB...it doesn't represent the rest of the album and as mentioned earlier, is just boring.  it's a radio friendly song that will probably get lots of airplay and won't take long to get sick of. at least VR have a solid rock in roll album to back up this shitty choice for a 2nd single.

I think it kind of does.....and I am happy that it does! I love Slash's solo...haha and the "80's style" build up right before it.

I think its a GREAT ballad and would make alot of people buy the album......it could be a massive single..
But the start of the song reminds me of the start of Dont Cry....just a bit faster.... Huh
What do you think???

I, too, find myself skipping the song.  I think it sounds eighties-ish.  The song actaully sounds familiar to me.  I got the intro nailed down to Dangerous Toys "Best Of Friends".  The rest of the song will come to me soon...bit the whole song definetley sounds familar.

But the rest of the album, sans LTA & FTP is great.

I love Fall to Pieces.  I have been waiting for a song like that for quite some time.  I listen to loud and often!

FTP probably will be a huge hit cause theres that element of the public that eats up the cheese. FTP will pull in some Creed and Nickleback fans i'm sure...If i was not too familiar with GNR/STP, FTP would not get me interested in VR unlike alot of the other songs on CB probably would. FTP will bring in a broader fan base...maybe the record label is behind this crappy choice for the 2n'd single?

No, I'm sure the record label has nothing to do with trying to bring in a broader fan base and sell more cd's  Roll Eyes
