He displays Axl as people think he is, a parody of what people think about what beeing a rock star is like.

And there's also the 'Yeah Yeah Yeah's' playing at the MTV movie awards - i never recently heard anything that sounded more like GNR than the Yeah Yeah Yeah's... in fact, minus extended guitar solos, it's pure GNR - Appetite. It just plain rocks like the pussies at Velvet Revolver can't do.

I don't know what the big deal is, it seems fine to me.  Certainly, Eminem would be aware of the comparisons between himself and Axl.  His videos are all very goofy, so I don't think he's necessarily "mocking" Axl, just having fun with it.

Just because you dont like hip hop, doesn't mean there cant be a mutual respect. Rock and hip hop images are fucking funny. Eminem doing this would be great, and now I am definitely going to watch. He probably got the idea because VR is going to be there, and that is awesome. I think I like the guy even more now.

1). It's clearly Guns N' Roses to anyone.
2). This, more than anything (despite being a joke), confirms that when you think rock band, Guns N' Roses are number 1. Like someone said: Who else would you copy? No one is more recognisable. Guns N' Roses are the definative rock band.
3). To me it's not a blatant piss take. It's not like he's going round saying Axl's an ass, GNR are shit, etc. Eminem makes parodies of everyone, and everyone is used to it. He's not singling GNR out or anything.
