I would be open to that possibility, however I don't think the situation would work.  He isn't somebody that fits with Axl and the new band.

I don't think he is that creative.  Creed's first two albums were very good for the most part.  Some good songwriting, but that was as far as it could go.  I didn't buy the third album, but I can conclude that Mark Tremonti's abilities are limited.  The first two albums were very similar in style, and I always thought "they need to show they can do something differant, or it's over".

I doubt this guy wants to learn songs and tour for 3 albums worth of material that he did not write.

I like Creed a lot

but it?s a diferent style of music... but Mark Tremonti is amazing! when you?re in a band that just have 1 guitar player, and your "style" call it, you can?t have a heavy sound like Metallica, but he?s definitly a great guitarrist, just look to theyir songs: "bullets" , "stand here with me", "torn", "unforgiven"...

but I think it will never happen...

btw, I can?t believe they broke up... such a great band  Undecided

if mark could not stand  sapps erratic touring behaving what makes  you think he could deal with axls
mark said he cant sit still for too long, he lives to keep busy
that is the total opp of axl

He already has a new band. It features 3/4 of creed. Himself, the drummer Phillips and the original bassist.

I don't think would be cool call any guitar player from this known bands...

An unknown player with skills like Buckethead (he wasn't bery known before GNR) would be the perfect fit. If Axl didn't found one yet.

I always thought Mark was (is)  a kick ass guitar player, My Own Prision cd is a great cd.

It will be interesting to see what happens with his new band which is in fact 3/4 Creed. Their new singer is Myles Kennedy, he was in the bands Mayfield Four and Alter Bridge.

Hopefully mark will showcase his talent, and scott will have a huge success with his clothing line hihi

Here's the article from Vh1 about the break up.

God...that's possibly the worst idea I've heard since Robbie Williams replacing Freddie Mercury in Queen.

The only good thing about Creed is that they broke up and won't be around to torture us anymore.  Maybe there really is a god.

Everything Louder Than Everything Else

« Reply #17 on: June 05, 2004, 08:25:59 PM »

It wouldn't bother me.  I don't think it would be good for the bands image (if theres anything respectable left...) but I think Tremonti would be as good as anyone else in mainstream right now.  He's certainly a better guitar player than Finck.
As for his somgwriting....Axl seems to bring out the best in people...just look at what the old guys have done since leaving GN'R.  While good, I still think Maddy and The Blues are better than 99% of the stuff released by Slash, Duff or Izzy.
