I listen to CD and Maddagascar every once and a while. I don't want to wear them thin should the album ever come out though.

Well about a year and a half ago the Blues was my fav song but I find myself hardly ever listening to the new GNR these days.....maybe once in a great while i'll break out a boot but honestly I find myself watching older GNR dvd's more these days.

I've listened to all of them so much that I actually hope they are not on the album at this point. 18 completely fresh new songs would be great. Put the ones we have heard on the second album, if there is one. Huh

Gotta say there are few songs i have ever heard that i like more than Madagascar and the Blues - i listen to them regularily - but not too much, i don't want to become too attached to a certain version of the song and then find Axl changes them drastically for the album ''i tell u a 4th keyboard player will work!'' I dont listen to them that often - every few weeks/months for Madagscar, The Blues and CD. I pretty much dont listen to Silkworms, OMG or Ryhaid.

Madagascar, Blues, CD - once in every one or two weeks
Riyadh, OMG - every month
Silkworms - I've tried hard for at least 10 times, but I can't stand the song. I haven't heard for half a year.

Oh My God/Madagascar/The Blues/Chinese Democracy - A few times a week each.

Rhiad And The Bedouins - Every few weeks

Silkworms - Hardly ever.

If I didn't listen to these songs on a regular basis I would go insane.

All I listen to is GN'R/The Doors/Hank Williams Jr/Velvet Revolver/Pantera

I haven't heard the "new" songs since I saw them in 2002. Pantera says it best on their "Reinventing the Steel" album on the song "Yesterday don't mean Shit".

Come on Axl. No more foolin around. Release Chinese Democracy.

How can you people listen to the same stuff all the time. That would drive me insane. I've been listening to the radio recently.  This new station in my area has a nice range of 80's tunes (G'n'R included) the variety keeps me alive when everything sounds the same (In new Rock). Hopefully V.R. can start a revolution. (Or kick Axl's ass into gear)

The G'n'R tune I listen to most right now is Sweet Child, but  thats only cause I'm trying to learn how to play it on Guitar & Bass.

I went from a time of listening to them everyday to forgetting about them. I was kinda hoping CD was close to being released so I stopped because of that when it was obvious it was never coming out I already forgot about them  nervous

I'm assuming this thread means "New GN'R" songs, and not "New" GN'R songs...  ok

Hardly ever... I listen to Appetite and the Illusions a hell of a lot more than any of the new stuff.  I dont think I've played any of the new songs for at least 3-4 months.  It amazes me that you people can listen to the same song everyday for 3 years.  Go listen to some other bands for fuck's sake!!

I still listen regularly to the new songs (Madagascar being my favorite), and what's interesting is that once I get to listen to one of them I generally feel the need to listen to the others to keep on enjoying the particular vibe they deliver. Which leads me to conclude that despite the fact that those songs are all different in terms of musical style, they still have a common vibe, a common energy, that reflects Axl's new version of GN'R's coherence.

The new band might be seen as some kind of Frankenstein monster, but in the end, it works: it is alive and it has its very own organic coherence.

It is so alive that nowadays I find myself prefering some new GN'R's versions of old GN'R's classics to the originals as Slash and co used to play them back then (no offense intended here...). For instance, I regularly listen to London 2002's version of It's so easy or Boston 2002's version of Rocket Queen. I also generally love the way the new band plays Paradise City, WTTJ, Nightrain and SCOM (Robin does not fuck up the solo - you can say he often fucks up his solos during November Rain, but he plays the solo of SCOM the way he feels it should be played: it is definitely an interpretation and not a mistake).

I don't go out of my way to hear them anymore, but some of the new songs are on mixed CD's so they pop up from time to time.  I really don't feel like listening to the new GNR until they get their act together.

Also, Axl's rants are extremely hard to listen to these days.

I listen to them very often.

Maddy still is my fav ballad and the best I heard in ages.
The Blues comes close.
Rhiad & CD just rock the fuck outta everything. The lyrics and the screams in Rhiad are mindblowing.

Sometimes Silkworms which I like better than 2001 when I first heard it.
Sometimes OMG, which still rocks.

I've asphyxiated waiting...

« Reply #37 on: June 04, 2004, 09:46:40 AM »

Very rarely will I listen to the new tracks anymore...I just feel exasperated waiting on them to get their stuff together.  I go on binges here and there...Actually just sat down with my GF the other night and watched the MSG vid...She happens to love Bucket and GNR individually, but she was always quite skeptical of the combination.....To be honest, she was fucking floored...She became so excited, screaming at how great Axl sounded, how great they played, how much of a genius Axl was/is, but we both quickly realized how tragic the whole situation truly has become.  Bit of a buzzkill, but we loved the new tracks again...Listened to OMG yesterday, and the Pittsburgh SB's of the new tracks...Still searching for a better mix of Bedouins though...Rio is awesome, particularly the Blues, but the band is still too raw and hadn't really hit any strides yet..

Cheers
