I expect it to do 120,000-200,000 first week, then drop like a rock to 30-60,000 in week 2 once the new Beastie Boys album comes out. This album may SHIP a million copies in the US first month, but no chance in hell that this manufactured (read:hand picked by Clive Davis to sell some records for his sorry-assed label) band will sell anywhere near as many copies as some of you think. Come back and let's chat again in 4 weeks when it is floating around the #20 or #25 spot, selling 15K a week.
Yeh i too was going to mention the Beastie Boys album. In the UK they ( so far as i have seen) are both out Monday. So i'd guess it will be a kind of battle between those two bands. It's quite a quiet week otherwise as far as albums go.
But the positive reviews can only help and with the positive outcome of the GNR Greates hits will surely help things. I'd be happy with a respectable top 10 position, though i could see it top 5. I could imagine world wide sales of a couple of million by the time they have toured and promoted it ect
