I was just sitting down and listening to my vynil copy of AFD and looking at the inserted jacket. I then just read all the lyrics on the inside as I listened to the Album. Most of AFD songs are about Partying. (Ie Drugs, Sex, Parties, ect)Brownstone, Nightrain, WTTJ. They had a style like you either like us (gnr) or you can go fuck yourself. Then even Scott said he was censored on Contraband and they didnt want any references to drugs.  I think the lyrics are missing that edge, that FU to the world kind of edge.

That's just my opinion, I love the music of VR

AFD is 17 years old, it's lyrical content reflects that time and space.

Contraband's lyrics reflect where Scott Weiland is in 2004..

Well AFD would be R rated the lyrics of Contraband are PG rated.  To say they only reflect a time 17 years ago isnt true. The reason GnR is solid today is because their songs stayed the test of time.  Who doesnt love singing along to a party song like Mr Brownstone, even VR likes doing this cover.

All I am saying is there is no FU world style to the lyrics. They are mellow and dont have an edge to match the edgy sound Slash and Duff give.

I think MTV is streaming the clean version.  Im pretty sure Contraband has quite a bit of profanity.

I hope so. I dont like Disney Ending movies or cheesy albums that are edited. I want Rock Stars who can care less about happy rock and give the panies a big FU.
