Just because 'Oh My God' wasn't something that changed the rotation of the Earth doesn't mean it sucked. I still listen to it just about everyday, it's definitely better than anything you'll hear playing on the radio today. It's actually the song that got me re-interested in GNR back in '99. 'Slither' is a good rock song, but it doesn't have any particular punch. You make it sound like 'Oh My God' was GNR's one and only chance to come back, and since it wasn't overtly popular, GNR failed and is destined to singing on casino boats while Velvet Revolver will enjoy a long career of selling out arenas and snorting crack with Benjamin Franklin's. BS. Go find a VR forum to spout off to.

If you have a better way of comparing the songs/ success of the songs I am still open to suggestions. Make sure that none of them include things like because it is, or its just not special, or any of the other subjective comments I keep hearing bantied about.

V- tremendous use of language, I thinks its great you think so highly of me because you totally know so much about me and my musical tastes.

Such hostility and anger is not healthy, I mean this is just a message board. I don't always agree with YG or Dave, but at least they don't break down into the "I'm a tough guy role". Have fun with that one. ok

Oh my god was not even released as a single, so  how would It be able to chart on billboard? Hmmm
OMG was released on all rock radio stations across North America and Canada,if the song would've been a kickass tune like you all are saying, the song would've gone right up the chart, but it didn't happen that way and Dave,do you know why?  Because that tune SUCKKKKS!!!!
 SUCKKKKKKKS!!!   IT SUCKS ENORMOUS ASS!!!!!!!!

I just think its funny on how VR trys to be all hard and "a band with an edge".  There in there mid 40s, they all got wife and kids, and they got millions.  They think there cool by chain smoking at interviews and shit like that.  They should just be like they are.  Im going to buy there CD because theres nothing else out right now but come on.  How dangerous can they be?

To each his own. However,  I'm willing bet that if Slash, Duff and Matt where to release a song with lyrics secretly penned by Axl you would still think it's crap.

As for "Oh My God" not being released as a single, will lets compare it to "Set Me Free". That too was not offically released as a single but yet it was a huge success. It filled the air waves last summer and did extremely well in the charts.

Oh my God on the other hand didn't fair to well with the public. I thought it was cool song, but it wasn't well received by the public. That much is very evidient.

Yeah and the music public loves puddle of mudd and nickel back, what does that tell you.
Also estranged never placed high on the rock charts and its one of gnrs best songs.

The only bad thing about OMG is that it sounds a bit too much like NIN. There's even a small part that sounds exactly like a song from "The Fragile", can't remember wich one, can't remember what was released first. But other than that, OMG is great.

IMO OMG is much closer to Manson than NiN.There is this one song by MM, Astonishing Panorama Of End Times,  that always comes in mind when listening to OMG. All too vividly. The vibe. The way Axl sings it...very Manson-ish, at times.

In don't think OMG is a bad song,  but it is  horribly un-crteative.  It sounds like it could be by any even remotely talented  Industrial hard rock band of mid 90's.

I don't think it was axls intention to sing it like this..the band or axl made a mistake. still pretty cool.
