Fall To Pieces[/i] (while easily accessible and radio-friendly) is actually one of the weaker tunes on Contraband.

Agreed

I like only "fall to pieces" and "dirty little thing" . The rest of the musics, I think are boring  yes

its totally fun to play to big machine on a bass you gotta try it. i have been playing for less than a year and i already taught myself the main riff.

Had Contraband playing tonight after not listening to it for quite a while, and I still think it's a solid rock album from start to finish, with definite moments of greatness. I don't think there's any weak songs on there at all. I can't really say that about any of the other releases from any of the ex-members post-GN'R.

Agreed. Its a good rock record. No weak points and it sounds really good live. Just don't compare it to anything by GNR. It's a totally different animal

Always liked it, and at some point, when I thought GN'R was done, I was becoming a bit of a VR nut.. Fall To Pieces sounds like a Sweet Child rip off, and other than that, the only decent songs I'd give a listen to these days are 'You Got No Right' 'Loving The Alien' and occasionally, 'Superhuman'.

Maybe it's because it got old quick, but now when I look back onto it, it ain't anythin' special.. But, it is a great album when compared to the competition these days..

I really like Contraband....Just started listening to it again recently and its just a good solid rock album. Nothing more, nothing less. That's not in a bad way, there are special moments on there but there's also your fair share of fillers. Hopefully Libertad can liberate VR to new heights!

I too have been listening to it again....

The louder you go, the better it sounds.  Duff's bass sounds amazing and really stands out as well.  This album rocks.  STB is a great opener.

Well, have given it a few listens and... I can't say I was overwhelmed. It's solid, has a few standout tracks (specifically Dirty Little Thing and Loving The Alien) but they all sound too much alike.
It's built around the typical four-beat Slash riff and mr SW's quite monotone vocals and makes me lose interest in the album quite fast.

And did they just use the same damn riff on Slither as in Come On Come In?? hihi

So similar. All in all, a good album but...

I know they know better. *air shreds*

And can do better. Here's to Libertad!? beer

I heard this piece of shit on MTV leaked when it came out, just out of curiosity, and I have not gone near any of the songs again. What a shitty waste of cd's. This record is the proof that Axl was the creative force in GN'R, he has more talent in his pinky finger than all of these wash-up's put together. It's clear that Slash needed Axl to pull the great stuff out of him, with snakepit and now vr he has totally lost it. What a joke. With this album I can understand what Axl said about Slash telling him "I don't wanna work that hard".

gone. IMHO just like everything else he recorded for the band.
