Since I'm French, I'll add a little question about Paris/ France:

- Have you come back to France since 1993 to visit, and if that's the case what parts of Paris do you like to see when you come down there? Do you now use the term "freedom fries" instead of French fries? Grin Is Paris going to be on the next tour itinerary?

I would like to know how all the negative media affects him personally? if at all? and what is his motivation to keep working on the band and his music?

Has he found a form of Spiritual study that he has faith in? would he tell us which one?

How has his experience and maturity affected his lyrics on the newer songs?

actually I would like to hear anything from him, even if he didn't feel like answering any questions. If he wanted to make a statement to us that would be just as cool.

I definately agree that the list of questions needs to include a question on the status of CD.  I mean do we really care about most of this other stuff?  If he is proud of his work, he won't mind saying a little something about an album that has been in the making for a better part of a decade.

My two non-CD related question would be:

Has your impression of the internet changed over the past few years or do you still consider it a garbage can?  Do you visit the fan sites such as htgth?

A HA !  Grin
just let me say one thing... WE, BRAZILIANS, RULESS!  rofl
j/k ...

well, I agreed with mysteron... if we send Axl 10 questions... the last 2 could be about the new album, but not questions like "now about the album... when we?ll gona see it?! when you gona release it?!" ... we could be more carefull, something like "Nov Rain is a great song, with a lot of feeling and you singing this song is amazing! but whe feel the same way with songs like Nightrain and Jungle... what can we espect for the new lyrics? some angry lyrics? ..." ( you get the idea... )

I think we should ask him "normal questions" at first ... like that thing that I said about he playing guitar ... if there?s some song on the record that axl wrote the guitar part ... would be fun to see what he?ll answer!  Smiley

MYSTEROn, please, try to "organize" this with Axl?s manager and maybe Jarmo too ... ALL THE QUESTIONS HAVE TO BE APROVED FIRST... ok?

If you DON'T forward my questions, so be it.
If you DO forward my questions, please don't cut anything, even the apparently meaningless (?) stuff, thank you.

AXL:

1) How to break a circle?
2) The wind is killing me. I need an accident. I offered her a compilation CD yesterday. I don't know what to do. I think I need somebody, can't get no communication. Meaningless. By the way, have you seen the movie 'House of Sand and Fog'? If yes, what do you think of it?
3) Do you like Madonna?
4) Art is really powerfull. What's happening? I'm all mixed up. Is there something superior to art, something that could possess and 'eat' art? I mean why should we consider, and should we consider Van Gogh a genius?
5) Where did 'Rolling Stone' get that shit about cities beginning with the letter 'M'?
6) What possesses you these days? (what inspires you in general)

Thank you and have a good day.

What about questions relating to the new songs which have already been perfromed on the 2002 tour. Would that fall into the questions about CD being as they are already 'out there'?

... but at least there's a reaction.

« Reply #48 on: May 20, 2004, 11:46:35 AM »

Ask Axl:

- "Are you interested in a film career? -- Either scoring, collaborating on soundtracks, or as an actor? -- moreso than the occasional single donation (T2, End of Days)"

- "Are you still interested in creating narrative-based music videos, like the UYI video trilogy?"

I'd also query him on his metaphysics and personal philosophy.

- "Do you believe in a higher power (history of wearing crosses aside); to whom must a man answer, other than himself; what motivates you to get out of bed when you wake; what is, to you, the final measure of a man's worth?"

Shit like that.

Simple question:

How do you feel about your fanbase who patiently await your return to the 'rock scene' so to speak.. Do you have any message for those who continue the vigil of patience? (no pun intended)

Why would you ask about CD, Bucket etc. when Axl has for the moment said what he wanted on that matter (the press release)? If we got a reply, and he mentioned anything about it, it would probably be all over the press, or at least Axl would expect it to be. He would use his regular channels if he wanted to announce any news.

As I see it, the best result that could come out of this would be if Axl replied on some more personal, "off-topic" questions. That would drastically change his reputation about not giving a crap about his fans, wouldn't it?

If there are any questions on CD, Buckethead, ex-members etc... then we are likely to fall at the first hurdle

As I said, they have to be questions that Axl would want to answer. We can maybe put in a question at the end offering him the chance of talking about the new album

I'm not trying to start an argument or be an ass, but why is CD or seemingly anything GNR related off limits? Don't take this the wrong way, but I've never seen someone so scared to talk about something they have been working for so long. I would like to think he is excited and proud of what he has recorded and wants to share it with everyone. I can kinda see him not wanting to talk about Buckethead and fully understand not talking about ex-members (Duff & Slash lawsuit). Being so secretive about CD, while it's nothing new or shocking at this point, does not add up.

Either way, this is still a cool idea and mysteron should have the final say of all questions. He would know better than any of us what would more likely get answered.

I agree with the question posted earlier about asking him what he thinks of modern music.

He may want to talk about CD, I don't know

I am just trying to maximise the chances of him responding to the questions

« Reply #53 on: May 20, 2004, 11:56:14 AM »

Here's my contribution... First, questions Axl would answer (maybe   Wink ):
1. Why it couldn't be possible to play RIR4, if GNR has 2 excellent guitar players?

2. Who is the new GNR guitar player?

3. The Blues is an amazing song! Why at first it had a quick tempo and then a slower version? Are we going to listen to both of them on the upcoming albuns?

4. Do you also plan to release a DVD? (with the making of CD, a gig or something...)

5. Who came up the idea of playing Sossego from Tim Maia on RIR 3? Was Robin, yourself, Beta? It was a very cool moment!!!

6. Do you already have a concept for any of the new videos? Thought about any directors?

7. Who wrote the songs of the upcoming album along with you?

8. Word has it Rhiad was on RIR 3 setlist, why wasn't it played since it's a great song?

9. Is it true that on 1998 you invited Igor Cavallera from Sepultura to play on GNR?

10. Why we GNR fans don't have an open source of official news, an updated official website? It's a good way to make fans always updated about the status of the band and, since it's official, avoids speculation and turns the Internet a smaller garbage can!!

11. Will we see an official GNR biography by Del James?

12. In all of these years have you come to Brazil on Vacation?

Well, let's also try these desperate ones (maybe they'll work too  Undecided):
13. What is the status of CD production right now?

14. Why is it taking so long?

15. When will GNR tour again? (Brazil included?)

16. Why have GNR appeared in MTV, done a american tour, played CD tracks at a club in LA on 2003, but didn't release anything?

17. Despite of the existence of that unauthorized GH, isn't there a positive perspective when you notice GNR, even with many years with no new material, has lot's of fans all over the world?

Thanks RNT and Mysteron!

another cool question in my opinion:

"Steven Tyler, Ozzy Osbourne, Mick Jagger ... they rock! Steven and Mick was a big influence to you, and we always knew that you love them as singers and respected them couse they was ( are ) onte of the best singers in the rock n roll, and you know that you are a big influence to alot of the vocalists, what do you think of that? what vocalists do you "respect" even if you don?t love his type of music...?"  ( something like that... sorry, my english are really bad today  Lips Sealed )

i think he has already answered that question....
Regardless of anyone's opinions of me and what I may or may not deserve, clearly the fans, individuals in this band, management, crew and our support group do not deserve this type of treatment.
It doesnt answer your question directly but when he mentions uspport group, i believe he is acknowledging the gnr fan message board community.

Anyways i  don't believe mysteron but ill play a long anyways.....

this is the stuff you should be asking:{off the top of my head}
1) Will CD have a parental advisory sticker?
2) Seeing how gnr always seem to get negative press{sometimes its justified} would you do anything differently in how you handled things from 99 till the present?
3) What excites you about the material and the band?
4) What do you have to say to your most loyal yet misinformed/misunderstoof gnr fans on the internet....
5) As each days goes by, you arent getting aby younger. Will this have any tpe of effect on gnrs comeback?
6) Buckehead was fukin awesome get his ass back pleaseeee
7) Your thoughts on your former bandmates and vr?
8)What can your fans and the music world expect from gnr in the future?
9) do you know who younggunner is?
10} when the fuck is cd coming out so you can shut everyone up.
11) howd that miracle shot with .4 seconds left in game 5 make you feel?

those are teh questions that need to be asked....

I will give you 24 hours (from now) to do this

Why the rush?  Huh   Anyway, here are some of mine

- GNR has a huge worldwide fan base - what are some of your favorite memories from the world tours?

- What kinds of books do you enjoy reading?

- What do you think is the biggest price you pay for fame?

- Would you like to do some small-venue/club tours in the future?

Thank you Mystereon for the opportunity to participate in this. Smiley
(I apologize for any typos /spelling errors.  I'm pressed for time)

---------------------------------------------------

First and foremost - How are you doing, Axl?

What would you like to share with us at this time regarding GN'Rs plans for the forthcoming release?

What handles better the (Lambourghini) Murceilago or the (Ferrari) Spyder?

What feelings do you have regarding GN'R's 2002 Chinese Democracy tour that you'd like to share with us?

Who would you like to see the Lakers face in the NBA Finals?

How is the band handling Buckethead's departure?  Is any 'update' in order regarding that situation?

Considering that the Rolling Stone February 2000 Interview described you as anxious to have your say, but waiting until the new album is released and can "speak fo itself" -  Do you find yourself more anxious than ever - or do you find that the passage of time has actually tempered any such anxiety?  Have you in fact found it necessary to squelch/suppress any sence of urgency in order for your energy to be properly channeled?  We fans perceive that you must be under an incredible amount of pressure.  How have you found it best to deal with external pressure?   And what about internal pressure?

Composer, Marco Beltrami reported working on some orchestral arrangments for the new GN'R material.
During the recording of November Rain, one may recall your seeming to express a desire to record with an orchestra - noting however that it was at that time not a feasible option.   Have you have now been able to realize this desire and if so what can you share with us about that experience?

Speaking of Marco Beltrami  - Everytime a new blockbuster moive is announced - the first new GN'R single is rumoured to be on the soundtrack.  As far as you can say right now - what are the chances that we'll be working on a Twizzler the next time we hear a new GN'R track?

Did you enjoy the Matrix trilogy? Kill Bill Vol. 1& 2?  What movies come to mind for you?  Runaway Jury?  Spiderman?
Did you like T-3 Judgement Day?  Speaking of which...

How cool is it that Arnold Schwartzeneggar is the governor of California?

Eliminating the obvious ones, this is what I would want to know......

- What new music is he listening to?
- What was the new piano intro to November Rain?
