How is a guost note played.  I usually just mute ghost notes.

A ghost note is  a muted note, indeed, but you don?t mute it with your "pick hand" (the hand you hold your pick) you do almost like an  harmonic.But instead of slightly touch the note and then realise.You just put your hand finger over a fret (without pushing the string) and let your hand there.
There you?ll have a Ghost Note.
