I'm a llama!

« on: May 18, 2004, 11:10:29 AM »

I was expecting the awesome slash material from that past but got;

2)slashs guitar was mixed way too low...could barley hear it.

3)dave and duff were mixed way to high...so loud it was distorted and unlistenable.

4)the mixing sucked all night til the last 3-4 songs...

5)aside from fall to pieces, and slither, you couldn't tell any new songs fom each other...

i'm a huge slash/gnr fan, but wayland and the mixing is their downfall, even though axl is a inconsiderate ass, he was missed.

 Shocked

yeh scott....anyways..i was very dissapointed, hopefully it was an isolated incident.

they should really do a soundcheck though, and take away scott's megaphone.

Just messing with you, Quest.  Was it bad acoustics or a bad mix?  Sometimes the bands bring in too much sound equip. for the small venues and it all becomes white noise.

Kind of unrelated question, but...what side of the stage was Slash on?  I know he used to run around a lot in Gn'R days, but with smaller stages I'm guessing he'll stick to "his side" more...i just want to know so I know which side to go to on Thursday.  Thanks.

One of the guys who taped the show said the mix was really poor when vr came on, so you're not the only one questdex. I think the info file he included said that duff's level was drowning out everything else. Sucks to hear that, you'd expect a pretty good mix from a band of people who have been around for a long time and probably aren't using people new to that aspect of touring.

when your facing the stage, slash is on the right, duff on left...

yes...duff's base was over mixed..it was so distorted and loud you couldn't hear anything at all...total waste...too bad

yeah, i listened to the bootleg this morning, downloaded the FLAC files and did a quick burn this morning...the mix sounded like it wasn't great in the beginning, but got a bit better as the show went on.  But Slash definitely wasn't loud enough, and the crowd seemed...tame.  Maybe it's just where the taper was standing, but the crowd didn't seem very into it from the recording.

1)wayland was looking like a fag

Too bad, I'm sure Scott was expecting fans who wouldn't use such derogatory homophobic slurs to describe him.

People are always going to have different takes on events, but I was right there in the front right the ENTIRE show & had no problem with any of the sound.

Maybe you were in the back or up top where the pillars & what not filtered the sound differently?

And if you think anybody else was missing that shiny faced, eyebrowless, hair plugged, dorky hometown jersey wearing freakshow you're sadly mistaken. Too bad you appearently missed the kickass, down 'n dirty rock show I saw:( Sucks to be u.

Yeah can't please everyone. I heard there were some sound issues but that's not the bands fault.  Anyway that was teh only negative thing I have seen. 99% of the reviews have been great. Cannot wait til the 29th at Avalon!!!

Scott looked like a fag? Hate to tell you this but there are tons of rock singers out there that dress the same as he does. Hell Axl wore some tight, short, shorts before. In the UYI dvds, you can see his package.

So if you are calling Scott a fag you are also calling Axl, and almost every 80's rock singer a fag.

Maybe you are just calling him a fag, because you want someone to get you in the backside?

PS call Scott a fag to his face you faceless bastard

You from Boston or NY? Anyway, Avalon is a great place to see a show if you haven't been there.  Some of the shows I have seen there are 3 doors down, Megadeth, Sublime, Vince Neil, tesla, Violent Femmes and a few others...
