If all of a sudden, you ran into Axl Rose?
Think about this one now that Rio is canceled
No lead guitarist that we know of
No REAL news
I would like to have a discussion over lunch or something. It would be hard NOT to mention GNR in our conversation. I wonder if you just talked about life in general if it would be better conversation material?
Oh and be nice in this thread

I probably have a good chance of seeing him one day, me and my friends surf down in malibu by his house all the time (a beach like 1 block from latigo)

Isn't it sad the board has to resort to these types of posts because there is nothing musical to talk about. It's almost kind of depressing. Instead of talking about what our favorite song on CD is, or what this or that song means, we are wondering what we would say to Axl on the street. Major bummer. I guess I'll just have to meander over to the VR board and talk about how the tour is going, and my excitement over the actual release of an album. Maybe one day Axl will allow me to enjoy those same feelings about his new band

I'd say "If you're really serious about that 'learning guitar' nonsense, I know a guy named Satch you might be interested in calling up..."

i actually met him backstage at the MSG show a year and a half ago. I was hammered beyond all comprhension. I did get to shake his hand and ask him about estranged. He was very cool (contraty to what i expected), but he was getting annoyed considering how drunk I was. Axl is huge in person, he definately hits the weight room hard, dude, not like hiss scrawny ass used to be in the ealy days.
Im going to the VR show in NYC next week. Backstage, hopefully get to meet slash and duff. I will not be drunk this time....

Why not be drunk mate? You would fit in just fine with Slash and Duff
Axl is huge
Funny how the telly makes him look short. I actually thought he looked like he shrunk

I would start a general conversation about our tastes in music, and how he feels about being such an idol for so many people, some background info on various songs he wrote, etc. I wouldn't delve too deeply into "omgz win is teh chineez deemacrozy cumming out?11!!/11"

I'd tell him that I'd been a fan since Lies came out and Thank him for the music and how it all made me feel through all the different aspects of life.
He really does matter and affects people on a much deeper level than most realize. His voice can stir up and bring our emotions to the surface. I'm sorry for what he went through but apparently he had to so he could touch so many with his sound.
That whatever becomes of the music I pray he finds happiness and peace in his soul and can have a happy life.
We love him for more than just being a "ROCK STAR".
I wouldn't say it but I do think it.
P.S. I think he and Slash go together like Ozzy and Randy, Mick and Keith, the guys in Aerosmith, (sorry brainfreeze). They can just match the music to the vocals perfectly. Musical soulmates are as hard to find as romantic ones.

I think your right - its a shame neither Axl or Slash seems to realise that
By the way 'the guys in Aerosmith are Steven Tyler and Joe Perry

If I suddenly ran into Axl, i would tell him: Dude, a word of advise, call Slash, Duff, Izzy and Steven, apologize to each one of them for being such a bastard and make an album before 2004 ends!!
I think I actually wouldn?t dare to tel him that because he and his bodyguard would kick mi ass!!

I'd probably thank him for writing Estranged and November Rain, and buy him a drink.
