Until I see some sort of an official statement I believe it when I see it. I think we can all agree we know nothing about whats the next step with GN'R if anything.

i haven't been able to locate any quotes of AXL HIMSELF giving any sort of release date for chinese democracy.  the press, fans, and everyone else in the world seems to give it release dates, we believe it and then are dissapointed.  I believe that the statement from rio is the biggest thing to happen about the cd in a long time because Axl actually gave the statement, not his label, not hte press, or anyone not named axl rose.

As we know axl is vague but I'm hoping in June we'll get a release date and anything after july I'm going to stop checking the GnR newsites on a regular basis.

8th of september this year will start a huge campain for Chinese Democracy.
first ads will play some new song in the back and the tv screen says only:
chinese democracy starts soon.  2 week later comes a new ad which has a song with a mighty guitar riff in it playing in the back and  someone with a really low voice says Chinese democracy in stores NOW.

I crack up everytime I see the "still recording" line. A "few" months my ass...Personally, after this long of a wait, one album will be disappointing. He really needs to give us poor bastards more than 18 songs.

Chinese Democracy
Chinese Democracy is Axl Rose's long awaited and perpetually delayed attempt at recording the next Guns N' Roses LP. Although billed as the first Guns N' Roses album since 1993's Spaghetti Incident, the project is an Axl Rose solo effort in all but name.
After five years in the studio and a virtual revolving door of top-notch musicians and session players, the album shows no signs of ever being released.
