From Booker:
Hopefully Falcon will have a detailed report tomorrow night...
Yes I will, 2 disposable cameras, 1 digital camera and donning my Camp Freddy t-shirt for that matter.
Leaving for KC in a few minutes, back tomorrow with full report
...and hopefully a picture or 2..

I'm back fom KC and alive to tell about it.
Guys went on at approximately 9:05PM and and went to 10:20, setlist as follows:
Sucker Train Blues
Do It for the Kids
Headspace
Crackerman
Illegal I
It's So Easy
Fall To Pieces
Big Machine
Set Me Free
Used to Love Her
Slither
Sex Type Thing
Mr. Brownstone
Negative Creep
I was directly in between Scott and Slash, 2 deep the entire night. The crowd going nuts, crowd surfing, mosh pit et al.
At least 3 full on fights broke out in my area, the crowd feeding off the bands energy in a strangely violent way.
Make no mistake, this is the Weiland and Slash show, the synergy they create and the chemistry between the 2 is amazing.
They first three songs are all full on rockers, thick amd heavy.
Crackerman followed taking the crowd to another level of delirium, Weiland throwing the first bullhorn aside and onto the next without a hitch. The next song, a new tune "IllegalI " doesn't conjure too many memories, still coming down from "Crackerman". "It's So Easy" took the energy level up a notch, Scott seems to enjoy doing the GNR tunes as much as the GNR guys like doing the STP stuff. "Fall To Pieces" followed, Scott described the riff as "most beautiful piece of music on the album" with the lyrics inspired by his wife "Booting him out of the house" and his subsequent personal problems. For me, the song was a momentum killer, for the guys, a well needed break to catch their breath. "Big Machine" followed, (my favorite new tune of the night), very groove laden, big chorus etc. I think Scott said something like "this is a great song to fuck to". An extended "Set Me Free" followed, then a break followed by "Used to Love Her" to open the first encore. This was another momentum downer for me, I dislike novelty songs about as much as power ballads so take my opinion with a grain of salt to those who like it. Next was an extended intro to "Slither", a great build up then BOOM! Slash and Weiland flying all over the place, definately a highlight. The place was in hysterics by then when the mayhem went even further with "Sex Type Thing". It was flat out amazing, heavy, heavy, heavy.
Another brief break with Matt returning to the stage with the intro to Brownstone. Of course, every kid and burnout alike went balistic, Scott got into this song in a big way, posing, bull horn, whirling dervish, you name it. After Brownstone, the night ended with an ungodly version of "Negative Creep". That song is a show stopper, their take on it is dead on. Not too much variation from Nirvana's, a great way to end a rock show for sure.
A few side notes:
Scott jokes were running rampant through the crowd, nothing malicious, just normal sttuff you'd expect from a restless crowd and a singer with a checkered past....
Scott's looking a bit healthier, still rail thin but looking better.
His voice was incredible, not one misfire all night...
Slash hasn't aged a bit. Scott said something to the affect
of "here's Slash, our favorite player and guitar hero". ..
Slash broke out the top hat towards the end, looking cool as hell as usual...
Not only did the crowd surf, a wheelchair and prosthetic leg made the rounds as well...
Crowd age ranged from aprox. 15-45....
Silvertide was worth a listen, the drummer is a ferocious, Grohl-esque hitter..
That's it for now, I'm drained.
Final thought: If you like rock music, don't miss these guys. It's a sweaty, nasty, no holds barred showcase of new VR tunes and a few timeless classics.
Don't miss it.

Thanks a lot for the review, Faclon. Well-done.
No "Superhuman"...Wonder why they dropped it?
Was the "Slither" like the El Rey version, with the big finale and extra breakdown?
Any rants from Scott?
Also, you should send your review to Velvet-Revolver.org so they can include it on the site...they only got one KC review so far.
Loreation, this on the official VR site, from Yokos journal...
"We're in Minneapolis tonight, home of The Artist Formerly Known As An Unpronounceable Symbol. It's an early show due to a strict curfue, so I'm sure there'll be lots of movies happenin' tonight on dabus."
Just to let you know...try giving us a review tonight...

Yep, Slither was extended, not sure if like the El Rey, but longer than the studio version.
No rants from Scott, although he did confirm the rumors of he and his wife being back together, saying before Fall to Pieces, "I got my chick back"..
I don't recall Superhuman, but as you can tell it very well might have been cut, the show was about 1 hour 15 minutes...
Just got the pics back as well, all Slash and Scott, amazing to say the least...

I believe it was...its not in the setlist posted at Velvet-Revolver.org, or mentioned in any review.

No problems with cameras at the venue or with the band.
I walked in with mine right in my hand, the guard said the venue didn't have a policy and the band encouraged it.
Early on during the show, Slash was hanging on the security guard's shoulder right in front of me, I held my camera up so he could see, he nodded and went about his guitar heroics, no problem whatsoever...
I'll post review at the VR site with pics as well..
Oh ya, Slash wore a Sex Pistols shirt too, how cool is that?!!

Thanks for letting me know. I'll give a review tonight if I can, but the chances of me being sober enough to write them a proper review are small to none, so don't be surprised if you don't see one. I'll definitely put something up tomorrow, though.

I'm dying to experience this myself!
Great chemistry between the frontman and the lead guitarist is essential for a great band. It's good to know that Slash has found someone else.

That's an interesting description of Used to Love Her... Back when oldGNR played it, people had hissy fits about its (joking) misogynism, yadda yadda. Now it's seen as humorous... a novelty song. I wonder if Axl were to sing it today, if the public would give him shit about it.

I'm thrilled to hear that
I was blown away by the KROQ acoustic set, and if Scott maintains that level of live performance, then he deserves more respect.

This is the band that is touring with VR? I've heard good things about them.
Thanks Falcon!

We got there about 6:20, doors opened at 7:30.
Stood in one of 3 lines to get in, got searched and made our way to the floor, staked our ground and didn't move.

Are you sure they didn't play superhuman, cause when scott introduced it at the roxy, he said this is superhuman, and then said "this is a song about fucking"

Falcon, did you manage to get a hold of the setlist? How do you know they played the songs they did in that specific order?

That's what I remembered and it was confirmed with a copy of the original setlist at:
