Appetite for Rock!

« on: May 04, 2004, 05:36:07 AM »

I don?t understand why a lot of people dislike "Bad Apples". It?s got a good text and it rocks! I would put it in the same category as "Anything Goes" - not a hit - but definitely a good rocker. And it is light years better than "My World". For those of you who don?t like it, try to give it a chance again. Smiley

I think it's much better than Anything Goes. It's a damned good song with an amazing guitar solo, but the vocal melodies are weak  Sad That's why a lot of people dislike it.

I have a soft spot for "Bad Apples", since it was the first original song off the UYI twins that I heard.  The South Florida rock station I used to listen to had received a demo of it in early 1991 and gave it airplay several times before being ordered to cease and desist, and I happened to get it on tape.  It was different from the final in that Dizzy's piano wasn't present yet, and it started with a "1,2,1,2,3,4.."
It was exciting to hear it on the radio becasue it meant that stuff was being done and there was new music somewhere out there...I used to bring the tape to a local independent music store and they would play it over their sound system.  Brings back good memories.

In fact, I like the song very much. I think it's different and original. I really can't see what's wrong with it or with the vocals. The song is very good and it deserves an appropriate place in the GN'R history.  ok

I like this song, but it's in the bottom category of GNR songs. Anyhting Goes is much better, but the solo in Bad Apples is one of the best of slash's

I like the song ok, catchy. It has a rockabilly sound. Maybe it was written at the same time/session as Too Much too soon

I always loved Bad Apples.  It's a really cool song.  The only thing that bugs me is the production.  The clarity and volume of the lyrics is not where it should be.

I wonder why they played live only once? It's a kick ass rock song, much better than Bad Obsession, RNDTH, Dead Horse etc.

Good song...one of those songs that if another band released it it would be a classic, but with GN'R it kinda gets lost in the shuffle as another really good song.
