I was wondering, what kind of tragic event it would take to get Axl and the rest of the bandmates together.  For example, if Gilby or Matt died or if Slash or Duff's wife died would Axl go to the funeral.  Just wondering I don't know how he could go through all the trials and tribulations with them to become a big band, yet not be there for them in their time of need.  Just curious what you all think.

Interesting question...

If one of the ex-members were to die or fall ill, would it bring them together?  Who knows?

Sadly, I think a death might be the only way a reunion on any level could take place.

That said, the bitterness Axl outwardly displays towards the ex-members might just be too large an obstacle to overcome regardless.

Great question though..

well, it reunited Paul, George and Ringo when John died. But impossible to really do it as Beatles anymore. But at least they did. I bet it's a bit similar... maybe

Instead of a call to the lock the thread, possibly a differing opinion on what might spur a reunion would be a welcome addition to the discussion. Cool

Why think of such sad events ?

Axl was best man to slash's first wedding, by now, he could have been a godfather to one of his kids.

Who knows what life can do ? A second boy's soon to be there....

even in this case ( some of the ex members died ), I don?t think Axl will go to the funeral...

I don?t know why I?m telling this by the way... just my feelings about the whole axl x old member?s history

I prefer jessica's idea!! That would be great, but in all honesty I don't think even that would be enough. I think we'll have to wait until they've all gone bankrupt and desperately need the cash a reunion would bring.

More than meets the eye

Its a real shame it would take an awful event like one of their deaths to get them to even meet up again.

I still think that if they would all meet up again and have some 'clear the air' talks things would be fine between them

Who knows who needs to apolagise for what - but someone saying sorry might even do the trick.

Hmmmmm,

1. Financial Catastrophe for Axl and at least one other member

2. It would be nice if I'm sorry would work, but would have to be a "sorry from all and all for one" kind of apology.

3. A miracle (and those do happen)

Izzy i honestly couldn't agree with you anymore!
Great reply mate!

Thats all it takes, the magic word- "Sorry".

I don't even want to think about a GNR member's death or illness, because they feel like a member of my family! {I think that highly and much of them!}

If VR ends up being a smash and Axl ever releases a new record and it is successful, there will be no "i'm sorries." But that's banking on alot...esp with VR and Weiland staying clean. Axl we know isn't reliable.

I?ll say that if Slash, Izzy, Duff, Steven, Gilby, Matt or whoever had been in Guns N? Roses decided to forgive Axl all his crazy antics during the years, and suddenly took him by surprise somewhere (in a shopping center at his birthday or something like that) by shouting "we miss you Axl" and afterwards gave him a big hug - then I think he would emotionally surrender. Remember that Axl was very surprised when people at the New Year?s Eve show some years ago shouted "welcome back" during the end of the concert. He was almost crying and told the audience that he was greatly touched by their concern for him.

Axl is only a human being like the rest of us. Forgiveness, forgiveness, forgiveness and a "welcome back" is IMO what it takes to reunite the greatest hard rock band of all time.  beer

I wouldnt wish death or illness on any of the former members or someone related to them, but even so i still don't think it would bring AXL togethor with the other guys

I do agree that it might take a tragedy 2 make the orignial line up come back together again but they could just save themselves lots of heart ache by just saying sorry to each other.....
I f only they would.......
