Yeah, thanks Booker.

This version is much better quality than the previous version I heard.  I like the song even more now.

Thanks definitely go to Execute The Sounds at  Velvetrevolverforum.com for posting it up...

Yeah, the song sounds great...but I still cant help but feel disappointment over how much better it would have been if they had stuck with the El Rey version.  I really hope we get a pro-quality recording of the El Rey one...it seems realistic since they were about to release it as an EP.  It would be great if they put it on the single as a B-Side.

Although it has a great guitar solo by slash i feel disapointed.
It's just a good cool song but it sounds a lot like STP and it has a strong grungie element.  Very bad idea for the 1st single. No way a timeless song. El Ray version is much better. Also i don't like the production. Better Waiting for Chinese Democracy.

I love this song.....I just wish it was the exteneded El Rey version. I agree it may be a little more STP sounding, but this song definitely fits the mold of something the radio will play alot, and that is ultimately the most important thing out of the gate. I agree it isn't timeless, but what is important in getting a new band off the ground is to put out a radio friendly song that will get people asking and talking about the band, and this certainly does that. I have a feeling there are some more GNR sounding songs on that record, big rockers, but out of the gate they had to release a radio friendly song to draw attention to themselves.

This is the song they've chosen to launch the new album? It's not a bad song, but it's far from breathtaking. Set Me Free is better than this, and I wasn't too hot about Set Me Free either. Hmm...

You'll find it on Kazaa (K-Lite) for sure now.

I'm in a quandary as to if I should post here, or at VRforum, or just double-posting...does anyone else have this problem?  Huh

Anyway, thanks for the site, Booker.

Like Iron Maiden's "Dance of Death", the two first singles were the two worst tracks on the album  Roll Eyes

Out of everything that I've heard so far about VR, this has excited me the most! It problably comes from a fan who attended the meet and greet with Slash & Duff in Europe.

I've heard the whole album and I'm actually surprised that people are so psyched about "Slither". Just didn't expect people to jump all over it. It's a good, solid song. But to tell you the truth, it's one of the weakest ones on the album! Wait until you hear the likes of "Big Machine" and "Suckertrain Blues" - great, full-on rockers. Most of the album's in the same vein, but the stand-out track is definitely "Fall To Pieces". It's a huge, dramatic hard rock ballad with a classic Slash solo (think "November Rain") that will give Velvet Revolver a crossover appeal and make girls cry and get guys horny.
