I can actually see him fitting in GN'R. He's got the skills and the peculiar looks (which is one of the things I like about the new band - that sort of mad carnival sideshow feel). Looking at his signiature Telecaster:

it also seems he's got a sort of skewed country vibe, which I suppose could hark back to Slash's blues-rock feel, if applied in the right way. I mean, he's got a Bigsby trem, for heaven's sake...

He's a really good player.  He replaced Steve Vai as guitarist in David Lee Roth's band back in the day.  I doubt he'll join GNR though.

For a start he would lose his name. It's a Marilyn Manson thing. And more than likely the makeup and how he dresses, again for the same reason. Look at Jeordie (Twiggy), now that he's in APC.

John 5 was first brought in as a live guitarist, when Twiggy was writing all the guitar parts, because he is very good technically.

I wouldn't complain if he joined Guns N' Roses.

But, it would probably never happen.

i think john 5 would be great for gn'r. He is a fairly cool guy, great guitarist, quality stage presence and has put up with mansun and his outrages antics for a long time. As regards his appearence, i think anyone will look better than a guy weaing a ski mask and kfc bucket.
