What if the Buckethead parts were the only thing that was left to record? That could explain why Axl is talking about getting the album out sooner than expected...

I hope Axl is happy with Finck and Fortus only...

Hes prob got enough songs recorded with enough artists to make a fucking box set....

I sure Brian Carrolls guitar tracks could be recorded by a new guitar player in a week to 10 days tops....

no problem.. its only 18 songs guitar solos, fills,  that he would have to re record...

My question is "Are they going to have to re record the drums?"

I wonder what side of the sand Brain is on...

My answer to your question of the Topic is IMO

From the information Axl gave us in the press release, it sounds like the album will be out sooner because of this:

"Guns will be moving forward and surprisingly (without giving away any details) this unfortunate set of circumstances may have given us the opportunity to take our recording that one extra step further. Regardless we hope to announce a release date within the next few months."

No it will have no effect.

I have proof.

(Buckethead) X  (No Record) = (No Effect)

simple laws of math really.  Anything times zero is still zero

Nor will Robin leaving the band have any effect on the record.

Its not hard to re record his parts.... any guitarist could sit down and record Brian Carrolls parts in a week... then the engineer could track them over the other parts... no big deal.. i dont  think this will affect it in anyway...

Will this effect the release of chinese democracy?
   I think it won't. Cool
Will hey have to record his parts on the record?
   No, hey won't. smoking
I don?t think they want to remove his part an inch.
   Axl says
"We greatly appreciate Bucket's contributions"
"We hope to announce a release date within the next few months"
  and more
"In the meantime rather than dwelling on the negative, Guns will be moving forward"
   but then
"and surprisingly (without giving away any details) this unfortunate set  of circumstances may have given us the opportunity to take our recording that one extra step further"
What is this EXTRA STEP? ???I hope it's not another time eater.

" it appears his plans were to secure a recording contract with Sanctuary Records which I encouraged my management to make available to him, quit GN'R and to use his involvement in the upcoming GUNS release to immediately promote his individual efforts...Nice guy! "

does this mean that there going to use buckets parts on the record?

I think that they will not change any of the songs that buckethead helped play on.  It would be the same type of thing with the new gnr playing old songs.  They won't change any of the old songs to get the new guitar players interpretations of the song riffs.  If they changed the songs that buckethead already recorded on, it would cause a lot more delays.  I think that guns were waiting on buckethead to get in the studio to record his parts and probably just got fed up with him not being around.  Now that he is gone they will find the replacement that can put down the tracks in no time, making the recording go one step further.

good point, ok
And I guess so. it's a good news, assuming they are not to dig into that extra step further too much.
Otherwise how could self-claim shy perfectionist write a letter like this.
People here have waited too long to take things as it is.

I doubt it. Even if Axl wanted to take his parts out and have someone else do them, do you really think geffen would fund that?? Not likely

Well if Axl is indeed, "not dwelling on the negative" then the only thing that the departure of Mr. Buckethead does is provide a challenge for Mr. Rose.  He can choose to work through it or not... Grin
I'll lean towards working through it...so, IMHO, the answer to will Buckethead's leaving effect the record, is really a choice for Axl but I figure since this is the second time around for him, he'll find a way to work through it if that is what he really wants...

The most important thing is that Axl has said they will be announcing a release date in the next few months. He has never said this before.

I think the release is now dependant on the events around it - organising shows and promotion, and getting the right time to release it.

This could have been affected by Buckethead leaving, and so may well affect the album release which may have been even earlier.

Either way it seems CD is all but done. If Axl is saying there will be a release date announced in the next few months, it means either the songs are complete and Buckethead's parts just need to be re-recorded straightforward and quick, or Buckethead's parts are being left in.

Either way, this is the test. Axl has spoken. He's never comitted himself in any way before in a public statement. I don't think he would unless he was sure. He has to stick to his word now or most people are gonna be real pissed off, and it's gonna get ugly.

Axl has made countless commitments in regards to chinese democracy and has never followed through.  This last press state had no more commitment to it then any of his live public appearances when he would go into the cd.  He doesn't mention a release date either in this statement.  He says that they will take this another step.  Axls' been taking steps ever since RIO 3 when he said.......see you next summer with some new songs!!!!
My point being, don't get your hopes up and dont' read into things.
