Welcome to the neighborhood

« on: March 22, 2004, 09:37:22 PM »

According to this article Axl said, "CD was coming out this year".  But it will have to wait because he doesn't want to compete with himself (referring to the greatest hits release).

Here's the link:
http://www.contracostatimes.com/mld/cctimes/entertainment/8206618.htm

It's about 2/3 of the way down after Whitney Houston and Kurt Cobain.

I would be the first one to consider it anything more than a rumour.  But the article's author gives his contact information at the bottom, if someone wants to take the initiative and follow up.

he might have some knowledge that we don't. where is that paper based out of. Although I think it's just his opinion because It didn't contain quotes, but I just might e-mail him.

Rose says the greatest hits record will again delay the new record, which he swears was coming out this year. It'll have to wait, because Rose doesn't want to compete with himself.

Check the wording......"which he swears was coming out this year."

WAS......not is!

The album will be out this year. They can't move on that much intill it does come out or have an official date set to come out on.

I don't think we'll see the album this year...because 16 months of silence from Axl speaks louder than anything else.

I guess we'll have to wait and seeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.  I don't know anymore.  I really think we may not see it.  Just to have to face reality sometimes.

Truthfully..I doubt this album would have been released this year....I think this just gives Axl the perfect excuse not to release it.  Now he can sit there and say "Well, I was going to release it.....but now I can't....it wouldn't be fair to have people compare this new album to the old bands best songs"..etc...it's a cop out IMHO.  Just the perfect fodder for an excuse.

But that's just me.

Man, you hit the nail on the head there.  It's so hard for Axl to just release Chinese Democracy that he'll look for any excuse to delay it more.

Not only that, but you'll have every dopey Axl nutswinger defending Axl & how he was "screwed" by Geffen - just look at the post right on top of yours for an example.

When you call a board member that, you're basically insulting him/her. Somebody might even take your comment seriously and start a stupid fight because of it. That's something that I don't like. So why not stop trying to be funny and follow the rules.

As you might have noticed, somebody already replied to your insult. I suggest you all stop.

Yeah, i agree.
To not release CD because little axl didn't get his will in the GH matters sounds so childish that it's embarrasing. It's as unlikely as a performer to go home because the security don't take cameras from the audience.

Oh i forgot... this IS axl response with not getting his will

He might as well be so pissed that it will delay CD\
