Now that is confirmed that BH is out I want to say... I miss the old structure
1 singer, 2 guitarists, 1 bassist, 1 drummer and even 1 keyboradist (drop pittman)

Why does GNR need to replace BH ?
Isn't Finck a good guitar player to take lead guitar ?... if not, then why is he there ?

Well mainly axl wanted 3 players to nail the complexity of the songs live but still no I honestly would hate to think of Finck as the top gunner in GNR.  I mean c'mon no more NIGHTRAIN shred, that piss poor SCOM and NR solo and god only knows what else.

I like the three guitarist idea..its something new and dynamic

As for Finck - i have friends that play GNR solo's better than he does...why he is in the band is a good question.......

He's not good enough to be lead guitarist in GNR.

Whe I first knew of Finck join GNR I thought it was good news, I mean I knew him from NIN and liked a lot, but I have read here what fans think of him and I have heard that bootlegs where his guitar sounds shameful and I am dissapointed.

As if for example Slash never fucked up anything.
Come on we all have a bad day sometimes, i saw him performing at Pukkelpop and he stole my heart there with his performance.

Finck is really good.  He impressed me when they played here.  I think he could handle the job.

GnR were never intended to have 2 lead guitar players...

Robin was in.... Then when he quit Buckethead came in... Robin wanted back in so Axl said  "Fuck it 2 are better than 1"

They will not replace Buckethead if he is in fact gone...  2 guitarists playing lead was NEVER in the original plan.....

Without hearing more new material theres really no way for use to judge the need or usefullness of 3 guitar players. I quite like Robin, he may not be any Slash but offhand no names come to mind that i rather see replace him at the moment. I think Axl will replace Buckethead but with who we do not know. The 3 guitarist particularily on the old material were not essentially needed. Take WTTJ for example, Buckethead standed around until the solo and then played it and was done. I much more considered Robin lead guitarist over Buckethead, as someone already pointed put it doesn't seem as if Buckethead plays a single note on The Blues.

The band was perfect.  Bucket, Finck, Brain, Axl, Tommy etc.  Buckethead was the main focus besides Axl.  Just say it ain't so.  Axl and Bucket were a hell of a combo so just hope its not true.

why does everyone think Fink is a bad guitar player?.......because he doesn't play the old GNR song's solos EXACTLY as they should be. I mean come on, your judging him on playing someone elses material, ofcourse its not gonna be as good he didn't write those old songs/solos.

But then you say "oh well there are so many people who could play the SCOM and NT solos better than fink". Well if GNR are to survive they aren't gonna do it by playing the old material, so we shouldnt judge fink on his playing on that. Jeez give the guy a break.

Me personally as a guitarist absolutely suck at playing other people's solos. But when it comes to improvising my own and writing my own........they can kick ass. I have friends who can play other people's solos note for note.......sound perfect........but when it comes to making their own their clueless. GNR don't need a lead guitarist that can play the old material PERFECTLY.........they need a guitarist that can make NEW material/riffs/solos that are just as good.

Just because you can play the SCOM solo better than fink doesn't mean your a better guitarist than him.........just remember whose in GNR and who isnt. Wink

Finck rules.  Are people just not used to watching someone play with so much feeling?  Robin has more talent than anyone I know and he is one of the most exciting people to watch on stage in the Gn'R line-up.

True...

However, like Ive said before, Ive heard nothing (solos) from Robin Finck that is as good as any of the old GNR stuff and generally dont care for him as a GNR member.  I especially dont like his playing in the "Sweet Child" remake... no
