I really surprises me that some of you even consider that Axl might play guitar a whole show, or rythmn guitar to fill up. Ofcourse NOT.....

Im suprised Dark and Pilferk have not had much input in this thread.

Dark has some inside connections from what we have heard in the past and Pilf is a fountain of knowledge.

Maybe there investigating as we speak.

Not too much to say on this, really.  The extent of my 'inside connections' consists of a guy (a radio station program director, if anyone cares) who happens to know people @ Geffen and a girl who works in radio promotion (she works for a CC station - my other friend does not)

99% of the info I get my hands on comes from (supposedly) the Geffen side of the fence.. my guess is they don't know much about this... I went ahead and left a voice mail for my friend - if he has anything interesting when he gets back to me, I'll share.

I think its going to be alot harder for him to get any info out of Geffen now, though - since there's a lawsuit involved.. people tend to get alot more tight-lipped than usual in those situations.. we'll see, though.

Not to sound like an elitist - but there's some info that I come across that I basically dont share here and keep it to our chatroom..mostly because I might not be real confident in the details of it but it still makes for good conversation or whatever... and the message board crowd will start shouting FAKE! BOGUS! DIE SCUM! if they think they see a reason something doesn't connect.

Always remember, we each only have a piece or pieces of the puzzle - and NONE of us knows what the picture on the box looks like.  That's the nature of the beast.. and the information flow for GNR is alot more fucked than it is for anything even approaching 'normal'.

As far as Pilferk?  A fountain of knowledge doesn't even begin to describe him.  I consider the guy a friend and I absolutely love his analysis and commentary on the issues.  He's a great guy to talk to and his thoughts on this type of stuff are usually thought provoking, to state the least.  I'm sure he'll be around, eventually - I dont even think he's online yet, since he hasn't dropped by the chatroom.

Well I can't really say I'm surprised by Buckethead's departure...am a little sad for Axl (but then again, I've been feeling"a little sad" for Axl since the VMA performance)--I'm not bashing, it's just hard to watch another human being (who is obviously talented enough to bring a lot of soul rejuvenation to so many people via creating music) going through such a difficult struggle...I hope he's learning a lot about choices and consequences...Good Luck Axl

I tend not to post during the evening hours (EST).  Work allows me to triple and quadruple task (meaning post)...home doesn't afford the same opportunities (without severly pissing off the wife, that is).

Now, my feelings.  I doubt MTV would make up the story, or would print it without some heavy duty confirmation.  That being said, Bucket may very well have a contract.  If that's the case...I see things getting ugly.  Lawsuit ugly....but either way, unless Axl can make nice nice with Bucket in very short order, I suspect that we've seen the last of Bucket as a GnR member.

If this story is proved to be true, I must say I don't understand  Buckethead's decision. He may have been bored with GN'R's inactivity, but he's had plenty of liberty to play. He's released several albums in the last few years, participated to every god-forsaken project on this planet and has toured throughout the US and also Europe recently. It's not like he was sitting on his ass doing nothing.

Well, if you follow this path, Axl has been a "has been" to the public for almost 10 years now, so Bucket would have thought about that before joining the band. That makes no sense  
Plus I doubt that a guy who wears a bucket on his head and has a "stranger than strange" image cares so much about so-called credibility and being around wacky people.

call me optimistic but i don`t believe mtv. there is no good reason for BH leaving. he has enough time to do everything he wants. Mysteron said he has an contract. if there are problems they will work it out.

When I saw this I was very dissapointed, but I think that this has been in the works for a long time.  If Bucket was leaving it was porbably brought to AXL's attention several months ago.  Even if the Bucket is gone, GnR is not dead by any means.  If they do add another guitar player, I would bet that he's been working on the album and learning his parts for months now.  Therefore the six or so months delay of things.  For some reason this new band has the ability of keeping everything a secret, so why couldn't they hide the fact that Bucket's out and some else is in the band???  AXL, I STILL BELIEVE!!!..................................

Is there anyone left now that still believes that Duff and Slash and Izzy were at fault for the break up of the 'real' GnR? Are there any "Axl can do no wrong" believers left that now think Buckethead was wrong, like Slash before him, and Izzy before him, and Duff before him, and Gilby before him, and Matt Sorum, and Steven Adler, and countless producers, and drummers, and Paul Huge, and all the other musicians that have been in and out of GnR since Axl went haywire???

W. Axl Rose has singlehandedly ruined the greatest rock band ever.  And if Buckethead walking out after a failed North American Tour and no shows in Philly and Toronto isn't enough to convince you then...

Slash and duff left gnr bc they didnt like the musical direction of the band.
