Oh stop complaining !!
Some of you can be such hypocrits !!!
In 4 years, how many said they didn't like buckethead, that they wanted slash back, that the guy looked like a freak, that he wasn't good for gnr's image and bla bla ?
And now, all of a sudden, you cry your hearts out and go " this is the end for GNR" ?
GNR was finished before it was even started. That's also why we loved them, because you couldn't plan a damn thing.
Rebecca.. SOME.. not all of us!
Plus, regardless of what ppl think of Bucket, its bad news at this fragile point in time, when we really wanted to hear about GNR moving on past the recent court dramas etc to appear in RIR4 and put the album out. Like him or not, I think most people here would agree that they wouldnt want to hear this news at all.
Because you want me to be a Rebecca now ?
Suit yourself...
And yeah, i understand hwat you mean..i'm impulsive..
Haha sorry about your name.. I corrected it.. apologies

Ok. Response from management about Buckethead
"He has a contract"
Okay, so what the fuck does that mean or prove? Sounds to me like a subtle manner of dodging your question.
Not sure what it means. I assume it means, he can't leave
It speaks volumes to me. It means he is a hired gun. A session musician. If RIR4 is part of the contract, I guess he'll have to do it.

How typically GNR.
Cheers Mysteron as ever for the info but it seems management are just as naive as everyone else.
We all know contracts can be broken and there is probably a loophole
Yeah, and furthermore, Buckethead may be just letting his contract run out. I think someone mentioned that on the last thread.

Mysteron, I'm sorry - but think about the absurdity of this for a moment.
"I assume it means he can't leave" - How very sad is it that management or Axl or WHOEVER might have to push Bucket, contractually, to stay in the band, if that's true? That's just, beyond insane, in my opinion.
Whatever happened to musicians first, businessmen second?

Maybe
If he has left, he should have done it properly
And what does properly mean in this context, does he have to beg Axl to be reprieved of his contract so he can actually go and make some music instead of twiddling his KFC chunky chicken bite popcorn?
Dont get me wrong Mysteron, im not getting at you at all, you are a fountain of knowledge and have reigned supreme over all the other so-called sources who turn out to be bullshitting no hopers looking for some attention.
The whole thing gets more and more like a soap opera each passing day.
Well at least im thankful for one thing, we have some news.

lisa confirmed he was still in the band and that dizzy didtn say that
Lisa didn't confirm he was in the band, just that he didn't say that.
To Everyone else:
Seriously, please don't bring Lisa into this, because she was just trying to be nice and help us out with some info. However this plays out, and if Buckethead is indeed gone from the band, she doesn't deserve any shit because of it, so just fuck off before you even start.
If you wanna blame anyone, blame me for taking her comments to mean more than what they were intended.

Yeah, for an optimist... personally I reckon that means he has a contract that is/has expired. Fact is, they don't wanna give out any info til Axl is ready to say anything. And knowing Axl, he wont. We will just see him turn up at a show, minus BH, and say it all on stage... about how he was betrayed by Buckethead, and how his former friend did this that and the other... etc... we've heard it all before...

This is a sad state of affairs..
Managements "he has a contract" is probably them trying to be defiant and tell him to fufill his obligations, but it wont happen.
First the old band leaves/is fired, now the new band could well fall appart.. someone better go setup newnewgnr.com

Actually I don't even care about Buckethead leaving. For me it goes back to Philly and the way all the momentum just stopped. We haven't heard jack shit since then and it's real hard to believe that much has really even happened since then. So even though it sucks, you can't really subract from zero, you know? We had nothing before and we still have nothing. Nothing was really lost.

I CANNOT believe how many motherfuckers continue to undermine what Buckethead brought to GNR.
I'll enlighten you. He brought nothing short of GNR's salvation. He brought respect where was none. Respect from the music world, and respect from other artists. This would translate to respect from fans once educated.
This is a HUGE blow! He was in many ways more relevant than Axl, as he brought all these things to GNR that Axl himself has lost.
Buckethead left, and took all of this GNR's credibility right along with him.
This is so fucked on so many levels.
Goddamn it Axl. You actually made me a believer again. But right now, I no longer believe.

Yes! Hopefully well get (fingers crossed) another lawsuit!
I cant wait for GNR to assemble their "Greatest Lawsuits" collection so we can all enjoy just how badass Axl and his attorneys are.
Im ambivalent to Buckethead leaving. I have no clue what he contributed musically to GNR, so I dont know what Ill be missing - and neither do any of you. So you can end all of the "GNR has died" crying, because if you havent noticed, GNR has
been
dead. But if Axl can carry on with not only Slash, but every other former member of that band, hell certainly carry on (however that is) without Buckethead.
I enjoyed Bucketheads persona, and hes a great player, but as weve gone over a million times, Im not a fan of his music, so his departure is ultimately fine with me. I think he had a lot of potential for GNR image-wise though, so its a pretty big loss in that sense. He was obviously a star attraction. I wish him luck doing his own thing...I just dont think he was meant for GNR. Then again, I dont think Finck is either...
As for Rio, theres really no reason for a third guitarist is there? I always thought three guitarists was unnecessary anyway. The original did it with two and sounded great, Im sure the new one can too.
Oh well, atleast Chris Pittman is still in there. If he leaves, GNR might never recover.

Well, I wouldn't automatically consider MTV "official", though it's pretty damn close. I'm gonna side with Mysteron, and say until an official announcement is made through Axl, GNR, Bucket, or Geffen, I'll remain skeptical. It seems not all is as it seems
