Not sure if I should post this here or in the News Section. Anyway, for those of you in the UK, I just bought The Guardian and Guns N'Roses are on the cover of The Guide. "Thorn in their side. How Guns N'Roses tore themselves apart".
Theres a three page article about them inside with some cool pictures.

"The best thing that Axl can ever do is not to release that new album," says Ross Halfin. "It'll be the emperor's new clothes. "  - Guardian

On the contrary, the best thing Axl can do is release the fukin album because it will prove to everyone that he can do it.

The worst thing Axl can do is sit on his ass while the rest of the world alternately disses and dismisses him.

"Then the record went huge, and off they went, like a rollercoaster," says Halfin. "All that ego started coming from Alan Niven - his view was 'fuck everyone', and that rubbed off on Axl. His insecurity just became this massive ego."

Interesting... blaming Alan Niven for sparking the 'thorn in their side'.

The article claims that Axl did the following:

"In 1990, he fired Steven Adler (Halfin claims, because Adler had sex with Rose's fianc?e Erin Everly, then shot her full of heroin), and put the other members under contract. In late 1991, Izzy Stradlin left when he was told he could no longer step forward when taking a guitar solo: Slash by 1996, when Rose employed a school friend who told him what to do on stage."

Having background knowledge on this stuff, I'm not entirely sure these are correct statements.

Does anyone else agree?

I agree, these statements seems to conflict with what we know

Rose's school friend must be Paul Huge? Whether or not they went to school i doubt Paul was telling Slash what to do on stage when he didn't join the band untill after they had finished touring.

The statement about Izzy is blatantly untrue - Izzy was forced to take a pay cut because he didn't move enough on stage

As for the Steven and Erin part - c'mon thats too big a fact for us not to have heard about in the last 13 years, Steven and Axl have never mentioned and neither has the rest of the band

no shit, if steven fucked erin, than axl would have been ranting about him till this day, instead from the making of estranged video, you get the sense that axl is somewhat sympathetic to his cause, when he said this song can relate to a bunch of things including steven adler

GNR have always said he was just too drug fucked to do the job and they had to lose him.. maybe that is a truth but not the whole truth? Maybe there is a bigger story behind it?

BUT if Steven did, surely it would have come in court when Steven had his case against GNR??
