Okay I emailed universal canada last week and got a reply. i asked if the GH was remastered and if there was any CD news....I'm not to happy!
Thought I would share it with everyone.

Unfortunately the Greatest Hits is not remastered. It does however have the 'Sympathy For The Devil' track on it, only available before on the 'Interview With The Vampire' Soundtrack.

As far as 'Chinese Democracy' goes, sorry to say... but it is still on hold.

Its obvious that nobody knows anything about that damn album.  I bet Axl probably even forgot about it.   Roll Eyes  I thought there were a couple of songs that were remastered, wasn't that in a press release or something.  I remember reading about that.

maybe the lady at Universal was wrong or misinformed..damn imagine that - a misinformed person with relation to Guns n' Roses!

Honestly, when I saw the "quality" of the DVDs, I never really expected any kind of remastering for the GH. Trivia questions: How many DVDs have been released in 2003 with only a Dolby 2.0 soundtrack? Very few. How many Interscope musical DVDs have been released in 2003 with only a Dolby 2.0 soundtrack and not a single bonus for the fans? 3: GN'R's Welcome To The Videos, Use Your Illusion I & II.

Those accusing you of it being faked need to read just a bit better.  People, come on, he left the original email address he sent his query to in the copy / paste.  Yeesh, email the same address and chances are you'll get a similiar response from the same person.

Looks to me like the Canadian webmaster is probably the Chris person and he forwarded the inquiry to Lorie - or it could be the reverse of that.. but still.

Now, just because the email is real doesn't mean the information is.  Universal Canada says its "on hold" probably because that's the same thing they've been saying for 2+ years now.  They just don't have any 'new' information from the U.S. arm of Interscope from which to go on.
