In last weeks s kerrang there was a 110 essestial albums list....with elvene categories... such as rock, hard rock, heavy metal etc....

Appetie for Destruction was top for the Hard Rock section.

Guns N Roses
Appetie for destruction

They might have inahbitated the same genre and clubs as the poddle rockers but ideologically Axl and co were poles apart. Exploding the 80s me me me bubble with menacing broadsides from the desperate gutters of LA, Guns n Roses brought a real sense of danger to music. They were five scumbags playing greatest songs in rock histroy held together by a volatile chemistry that the band-once it began to unravel-would fail to match. 17 years on their  gloriously nihilistic calling card still sells 9000 copies a week.

Wow, Kerrang actually did something worth reading? And their worthless opinions were actually correct?

That's amazing!  Grin

9000 copies a week? Still?! Holy shit... How cool is that?

Amazing in every way, there are no words for Appetite, some albums/bands are overrated (Beatles, Nirvana) but I can quite honestly say that everyday I listen to Appetite, I always feel the raw energy and power of emotion that embodies every song on it, as unforgiving now as it was 15 years ago, a monumental achievement, a testament to what was the greatest band ever and something that I doubt will ever be equalled and certainly not surpassed.

AFD forever.

Not many people who like rock can say anything bad about appetite after I force it on them.

Oh Yeah.... there's nothing like a good forcing. *Muther punches his palm*  Angry  Wink

AFD is the greatest hard rock album ever. Nobody will ever be able to change my opinion on that.

Does anyone know where I can find the complete list?  I checked out kerrang.com and got nothing.  I'm interested in their lists on other albums as well.

Does anyone know where I can find the complete list?  I checked out kerrang.com and got nothing.  I'm interested in their lists on other albums as well.

The hard rock category that Guns N Roses were in was;

1. Guns N Roses - Appetite For Destruction
2. Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin 2
3. AC/DC - Back In Black
4. Thin Lizzy - Jailbreak
5. Aerosmith - Pump
6. Van Halen - Van Halen
7. Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet
8. Wildhearts - Earth Vs The Wildhearts
9. Darkness - Permission To Land
10. Motley Crue - Shout At The Devil

Some great albums there, I have AFD, Back in Black, Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Darkness and the Crue album.

AFD is the best by far of course!! ok
