GUNS N' ROSES Keyboardist To Embark On Solo Tour - Feb. 25, 2004

GUNS N' ROSES keyboardist Dizzy Reed will be launching an East Coast solo tour on March 18. Backing Reed at all the dates will be Los Angeles-based rockers FASTMASTER (web site), who will also be the opening band on the tour. FASTMASTER includes Matt Starr and Alex Grossi from BEAUTIFUL CREATURES on guitar and backing vocals, Troy Farrell on drums and Curtis Armstrong on bass.

Starr recently spoke to Boston-based freelance writer Debby Rao about the upcoming tour: "The shows with Dizzy are going to be a blast. It is going to be a bunch of friends getting together and playing great music. The band will play mostly GUNS N' ROSES cover tunes with a few other cover songs by various artists thrown in."

Starr and Grossi met Dizzy when they played the Cat Club in Hollywood. Dizzy has been wanting to do this for a while and had some free time, so they decided to put together this East Coast tour and have some fun. Dizzy will also reportedly be playing acoustic guitar at the shows.

DIZZY REED w/ FASTMASTER:

Mar. 18 ? Orange, CT @ Corner Pocket
Mar. 19 - Worcester, MA @ Lucky Dog Music Hall
Mar. 20 - Windsor Locks, CT @ Cargo's Cafe

Covering a band that you're a current member of, that's kind of a new one ...

For fucks sake, what is everyone's problem? Dizzy is a musician and he wants to go out and play some music. Why the fuck is this lame?

Leave the fucker alone. It's not his fault stuff with GNR aint happening. He's been a member of GNR for more than 10 years, stuck with it, and then supposed fans give him shit when he wants to go out and play.

Give me a break, the only thing lame here is some of you fuckers.  hihi

This is excellent,  What a year!!!!!!!!!!

Fisrt we have Alder's Appetite.

Then we have LiL' G n' R.

Now we haev Dizzy Reed in his second G n' R cover band.

But in all honesty I'm waiting for the 976-Horn section to starting touring.

Matt Sorum's Camp Freddy gigs generate better press for VR than Dizzy Reed's GNR cover tunes for GNR!

Buckethead's solo work gets respect, but when Dizzy says he has free time, wants to play GNR songs, and ends up doing it with a not-GNR band - now how does that sound to the world at large?!!  crying

Its cool that Dizzys touring - but to cover Gn'R tunes - man that sounds pretty crappy, especially if its AFD stuff that he didnt even help write.

I get bummed out every time i read something like this.  And it's not like after the tour all of a sudden GnR will be ready to go.  GnR won't pop back up until after we've seen NO solo tours for a few months and all the members have been with axl in LA.  Either doing rehearsals, videos, photo shoots, whatever.  All long as these solo tours are happening, we've got a long way before Chinese Democracy comes out.  Damn. I really thought it was going to be this spring.  My freinds are laughing at my true-beleiving ass.
