I have said this once and ill say it again and you can take this tidbit of info and bring it to the other board.

Axl doesnt go on late.
If axl goes on between 10-1030 every show then he is not going on late.
Its a damn rock show, it doesnt have to be over by 930.

Id give the guy a lot of credit, the new band plays 90 mins the old band played 3 hrs.
Most bands only play for 45 mins or an hour.
Gnr play double or triple that
So stop your crying.

As for rioting fans,  you blame axl for that, blame the stupid fans who think they want to break shit.

Do you blame the pariots for their fans rioting after they won the superbowl?

This is for BabyGorilla and the people like him.
Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

 confused

I don't understand why people keep arguing about the same things over and over...is anything going to change by saying it again?

I love to hear myself "speak" as much as the next guy, but come on...give me a break.  Move on.  Or at least come up with some original material.   Wink

I argee with you. Axl does play a lot longer than most bands today. Also it is a dam rock show who cares what time it starts or ends. I understande if you have work the next day or something but you should think about that before you buy tickects. It's not like it's a train and has to start on time.

Yeah you can't blame Axl or Guns N' Roses at all for the fans who break things at all.  no

Oh that's bull shit about Steven Tyler of Aerosmith, Mick Jagger,  Kiss and Bon Jovil  never fucking blow off shows. I know they did and also I bet they don't play 100% all of time like GNR.

Its stuff like this that makes me mad. rant

Who does this dude think he is anyways.  Is he some musical expert that studies how a frontman should or should not act for a concert?  No, I didn't freakin think so.  Just because your frustrated doesn't mean you can try to pick apart GN'R.  Oh and by the way this new GN'R is not a cover band.   rant

Wasn't that shit posted on metal-sludge over a year and two months ago? Get a freakin' life.

I think that was one of the post over which I got banned. I said something about how I felt bad for the fans that got screwed over at the Philly show, but most people on the sludgeboard ripping on Axl weren't even fans, they were just jealous that they were old and bald and they couldn't afford botox to look as good as Axl. I guess that must have struck a nerve with the mods, cuz I got banned after that. That just goes to show how lame metal sludge is. They always bitch about how other rock stars are dicks who can't take criticism, but apparently they're no different.  I've never been to their stupid board ever since, and getting banned was a good thing, cuz 1) the sludge board was just a waste of time and 2) I started coming here and this is a much better board.

it's just that Motley Crue shit when Vince Neil left, they should have changed the name, just like Axl should do.
 smoking peace

I agree that motley should have changed the name, but that's because Vince is the signature of the band, just like Axl is the signature of GN'R, and for the same reason Axl gets to keep the GN'R name. And the self-titled motley album is not "shit." MC '94 is arguably their best work musically.

oh, you mean you've heard their songs?  cuz from what i've heard, is a tour of 95% material that wasn't theirs.  it was a band playing another bands music with a sprinkling of some stuff that was theirs.  If that isn't a cover band, what is??

steven tyler doesnt blow off shows? what a fuckin moron! how bout in the 70s when he constantly passed out in the middle of shows or was so high he couldnt remember the lyrics

he blew off my show in november of 2001 cause his voice was fucked up, it was on a saturday but on monday he was on trl ready to play MSG and he was fine

so steve tyler is a horrible example!

I got this message off another message board,I agree with it,so I though that I would share it.

 rant

Fuck Axl Rose!

Why beat around the bush? We all know the stories by now. The guy is a self-centered, arrogant asshole who is only concerned about himself. When science finally locates the center of the universe, Axl will be surprised to learn he's not it. He makes Sebastian Bach actually seem like Jesus Christ!

Now you'd think that he would have been excited that an arena full of fans were stupid naive enough to buy tickets for his Guns N Roses cover band. You'd think you'd want to perform in front of those people. The very fans who still support you. Maybe Axl never got the memo that all bands get when they start out. It lists a few common rules that bands should follow. Some of the rules are:

Rules:
1. If you're scheduled to go on at 9:30 PM, then don't be a couple hundred miles away at the same time watching fucking TV!!! Unless it's a WWE Pay-Per View, then it's ok. Otherwise, get to the city well before 9:30.

2. If you're scheduled to play a city on Friday, then try being in that city on Friday!!!! For example, if you're schedule to play Philly on Friday, then maybe you should be in Philly on Friday!

Here's a test: If your band is playing a gig in Nashville on Tuesday, then where should you be on Tuesday? If you said Nashville, you are correct.
If you said Tampa, then this is too complicated for you, Axl, so go back to watching TV.

3. If you're scheduled to go on at 9:30 and you do happen to be in that same city, then go on at 9:30!! Get to the venue early. Have dinner. Take a shower. Then go play. Have sex with underage groupies afterwards.

It's really that simple. It's not like Axl has to get in a car and drive from city to city! He doesn't need to use MapQuest to figure out where he's going. He's fucking flying everywhere. He doesn't even have to think. He just has to go where his handlers tell him. But that seems to be too hard for him. Perhaps his whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

When a tour is canceled or shows are blown off, it effects a lot of people. All the crew guys GNR had are now like Slaughter, totally out of work. They probably took this gig over other gigs expecting to get paid through the end of the year. Now it's December 9th and they're out money. But Axl doesn't care. He doesn't give a shit about the roadies who were counting on these shows to pay their bills or buy Christmas gifts for their starving children who are now out living on the street without a Christmas tree or a hot meal! (Ok, I admit that's a bit dramatic, but fuck you, it's my post). It's more important for him to be able to do whatever he wants at any given time. Meanwhile, the fans in Philly were sitting around for 4 hours waiting for Guns N Roses to play. And even though they never played, you could still buy GNR merchandise! Their merch booths were open, so Axl still made money that night. Same thing with Vancouver. He can still make money from merch and sit on his ass and miss the show. Think about that next time you go and buy your silly GNR concert shirt. You might be buying a concert shirt for a show that isn't even going to happen!

And for those of you saying, "Well he's a rock star." I say, "kill yourself." Does Steven Tyler of Aerosmith have this problem? What about Mick Jagger? He's like 100 years old and the guy has no problem taking the stage on time. What about Kiss? What about Bon Jovi? None of those bands have this type of shit happen to them? You don't hear stories about Jon Bon Jovi being in New York when he's supposed to be in Philadelphia. You don't hear stories about Aerosmith fans rioting when Steven Tyler doesn't show up to a show, do you? That's because Steven Tyler doesn't fucking blow off shows!

Actually it sounds like the FU Award from Metal Sludge...to be honest, I found the "test" about where you're suppose to be pretty humorous...I mean come on, Axl's not allowed to be called on shit when he does a "homer" --Doh!
I guess there are different levels of fans...those who put Axl on a pedestal and say he's not accountable for anything and those who look at him from eye level with his feet on the ground...all in all I thought it was a rather funny post, I mean you have to laugh at it at this point in time... Grin

p.s. as far as Aerosmith goes, yeah in the 70s they ALL were fucked up, and they disengrated for, what a year, 2 years? My point is, it's 2004 and Steven (with his original boys intacted) is still doing what he loves to do...so he (and the band) are a good example of that, and whole lot more with regard to the rock-n-roll stereotype cliche burnout sex, drugs, junkies and rock-n-roll thing...well, that's just my opinion Tongue

If u don't like Axl Rose.....why post on this site?

Axl is in my view the greatest musician ever  - so what if he cancels the odd show, he's given the whole fuckin world 6 of the best albums ever.

 no

Slooww down...

Greatest frontman, sure...greatest musician?  I think youre forgetting that there was at least 4 other guys who were nearly as important in making those albums "hes" given to us (where you got 6 albums, I have no clue).  This wasnt Nirvana where one guy wrote the music, their music was a full collaboration.  It seems like I must constantly remind some of you about that...

It takes an expert to know that blowing off 2 concerts in a month isnt cool?

The guys post was a little too angry, but fairly on-point.

Ohh, okay...its okay to make over-the-top,even baseless statements as long as theyre prefaced with "In my view"...Sorry, forgot about the level of discussion were on. ok

Where did i say that was fact - where did i say the others did nothing?

An even better question is where did I say you thought it was fact?

By stating "[Axls] given the world 6 of the greatest albums ever," youre giving one man credit for a five-plus man job.  Get it?

I think Axl's the best frontman ever. period. U disagree, well good for u!! Cheesy

As you can see, I dont disagree with the frontman thing, its the greatest musician deal that is ludicrous.
