26/Jul/2003

BH - Hows the tour going?
TS - It's going great thanks. The British people are very friendly and seem quite eager to buy me drinks (laughs)

Tommy then walks off to speak to a fan for a few minutes
BH - So you are in the UK at the moment promoting some new material. Is that right?
TS - Are you not wanting to know about Guns n'Roses? (laughs) Yeah, I got a whole bunch of songs that I've written and recorded over the past few months and I'm hoping to put out a record very soon. Did you like the song by the way? (laughs) Tommy then walks away again for a few minutes

BH - How do you know Jesse Malin?
TS - Oh we did some work together a little while back. We're just old friends, that's all

BH - Inevitably, I've been asked to ask you what the latest is with Guns n'roses. I hope you don't mind
TS - Aaaah, I thought you'd mention them at some point *laughs* Well, the new record is currently being mixed, so I've been told, and we are currently planning to get something out in mid-fall or so. Will that do? (laughs)

BH - What's your been the highlight of working with Guns n'roses so far?
TS - I think, for me at least, the best parts are still to come. But I have enjoyed everything so far, being part of the process of putting the new album together. It's been fun. And I can tell you that there is some really good stuff to come out in the future from us. Axl's worked with alot of people over the years. . But for me, like I said, the best parts are definitely still to come. I really do enjoy being part of the Guns n'roses line-up and when I am not there I do actually miss it believe it or not.

BH - You say Axl has worked with many people over the years. Give me a few names
TS - Oooh, he's worked with Queen and Brian May, Elton John, Rivers Cuomo, Lionel Richie, NAS. The list goes on

BH - Lionel Richie? Didn't he sing 'Hello'?
TS - Yeah, that's right. (laughs) Axl got him in to do some vocals and stuff and they have also done a cover of a very famous song. But you will have to wait and see what that is.

BH - So, what are your plans for the future?
TS - World domination by next Spring

I never really believed that interview was legit.  It came out around the time of the NAS and Lionel Ritchie rumours and I always figured it was a bogus attempt to make the rumours look legit.

Don't you think that you need somebody?

We know Brian May commented that he was happy that his guitar was still on Catcher in the Rye...  Maybe some of the "big guns" are tracks featuring guest artists?  I actually hope not, just because the fans need to hear the playing of the actual band members and not have the new GNR be overshadowed by too many guest musicians.

Not only that, but I'm not looking forward to hearing Shaq on any album ever again, ever!
