I think it will be the end of the band if Axl goes through with suing Geffen. I have a feeling it will get messy because Geffen isn't just going to roll over unless CD is ready to go.  no

unfortunately I agree.  I  tend to think this could very easily be the end of GNR....but on the positive side...at least we should know one way or the other relatively soon.

he's suing because CD is close to being done; he doesn't want a GH package anywhere near the new material. This is good news! we are close.

But if it's released, then i think Axl will push his release date (known only to a deterministic god and Axl) back, probably a year or more.

I hope that this come out to a definite conclusion one way or the other.  Either Axl gets his way (Greatest Hits not released) and he then releases CD, or the record company gets its way (GH released) and GNR is then either over or moving to a different label.  At least once this goes thru one way or the other we may know where GNR stands regarding the release of any original material.

How do you know that? The record company has been hearing it's almost done for years now. It's either done or it's not.  My guess is that it's not or we wouldn't be having this discussion right now.

This will not be the end of Guns N' Roses.  Some stupid cd is not going to end this band.  The suing process will just be a "bump" in the road.  It may cause some frustration among people but not enough to end the band.

If I was Geffen, I would most likely let him go. Even if CD is realeased and is a huge success -  noone can afford to invest another 10 years for Axl to make the next album.

The reason Geffen are releasing Greatest Hits, I think, is to at least bring in some money to cover the crazy bill that has accumulated.

i gotta disagree izzy

to me if the record wasnt strong enough they wouldnt wanna release it whereas if it is strong enough they want to release it by any means necessarry i think axl is just doubting himself but geffen has heard it and knows its amazing and they are now putting the pressure on axl cause they know he is sitting on a goldmine

axl didn't mind Live Era even though it put bank in the pockets of the old members; he minds this time because this project is close to being done. Remember in axl roses' mind, close means plus or minus 15 months....

i think this is Geffen putting pressure on axl, not the other way around or this being used as some cheap publicity stunt. perhaps Geffen is tired of being pushed around and tired of handing out extension after extension for axl to get the master copy done already. what better way to get axl to compromise then to threaten his possible comeback with a shitass GH album that could make him into an even bigger joke. Undecided
