Fuck! just heard the news.. crying

Just wondering that what does Dizzy's wife knows about anything...Yesterday She said that buckehead is in and now we heard this...

I think that she never told that...she just told that Dizzy hadn't said that thing.

Three things;

I think I read somewhere that Dizzy's wife does not want any reference made to her w.r.t. situations relating to Guns n'roses, so I think we should respect that

Secondly, if you feel the need to point fingers at people, then point them at Buckethead. There's nothing wrong with wanting to leave Guns n'roses, but I do think he has handled the situation in a childish, amatuerish way not befitting of a Guns n'roses guitarist

Lastly, although the situation does look mighty bleak, it is worth pointing out that there has been no official confirmation yet of Buckethead's departure. Also, looking again at the MTV article, they stated that Buckethead had left Guns n'roses only to return again later. So, really, it is only their opinion we are going on at present that this current "departure" is permanent. Maybe he just gets a massive rush of hormones every winter or something  hihi

i agree 100% with your thrid point. all hope certainly is not lost at this point.

but your second point is just hilarious. talk about a BIASED opinion of axl.

if anything, b-head is following the standard PERFECTLY that axl practices for gnr.

I totally agree. Axl is massively eccentric, massively unpredictable and sometimes very childish  hihi

However, just because the sky is blue doesn't mean the grass has to be too, hence the topic here is not Axl, it's Buckethead, and as such, expectations are different

sure expectations are different, but we ARE talking about a guy that communicates through hand puppets, claims to have been raised by chickens, and wheres a KFC bucket on his head.  hihi

and maybe he treats others with as much professionalism that they exude.

but assuming he's done with gnr, does this mean it's back to square one for writing and recording chinese democracy??

The administator over at the golala board had this to say:

Quote
What I have dug up so far on this Buckethead story is that Buckethead has not actually fully left Guns n'roses and has made no attempt to officially leave the band. He is just refusing to work with them at the moment. He does this all the time, I have been told, because as far he is concerned, the new album is finished and has been finished for a long time

There are people on the contacts list who I will check this with

The link is: http://www.golala.com/forums/index.php?mforum=Gnrforum&showtopic=104&st=0&#entry397

So who knows how this guy knows, but atleast it's a little ray of sunshine....

Refusing to work with them could be that he is trying to get fired.

Axl doesnt deserve fans like us. We would do almost anything to get this band back on track and what Axl can give us any info whatsoever.

I like VR better anyways. Atleast they GET IT DONE, AXL! You cant even show up in conserts, you cant keep your band together and you can NEVER finish CD. Your gonna die in fear. NO ONE CAN EVER FORGET YOU. For taking GNR- name, for giving us false hopes, and for giving us NOTHING, GO TO HELL AXL. I can see through you Axl, and Im seeing only a hypochrite, lonely, selfpiting old man.

My 4 years of wating is over, F*CK YOU AXL!

Here you are second guessing the so called news, reminding everybody how careful we should be since there is no official confirmation, but it is however official enough to start blaming Buckethead?

LOL, The only one being childish and immature in this whole deal is and was Axl, looking at nothing more then the facts. Axl is the captain of this ship and the ship he was on in the past. Both situations go wrong and the only constant factor in both? is Axl. If Buckethead has left, he may have done it in an amateuristic way or whatever. His departure is however a result of the mess other people (maybe just 1) where making. It?s very unlikely that CD hasn?t been released after 7 years because of Buckethead.

No, the GNR-way of dealing with guitarists is using them for what they are worth and then referring to them as colon-dwellers in future concerts, after dropping them (Axl: ?Slash is in my ass?). After all these years I really can?t blame anyone of the new guys for leaving. Every other self-respecting musician would do so eventually.  Disapproving about the way his departure is handled by him (and making such a fuzz about it) is plain nitpicking. Especially in such a context.

No the topic here is GNR and the inability of the frontman to communicate with people (bandmembers or fans) through words or music (well, not anymore, where is CD?), leading to the departure of Buckethead (which is the exact topic here). To understand the results you have to look at the ingredients.

I rather have a guy who is childish and na?ve in handling his business-side like Buckethead then someone who is childish, amateurish and rude in handling his relationships with people like Axl.

Thanks.  Any hope is good at this point, although I'd like to know more about these "plans"...
Could you do us the favor of forwarding the reply to Jarmo?  I don't think you're making anything up, but documentation is never a bad thing.
Thanks!

MTV South America reported Buckethead's departure in 2001.

Howewer, waiting for Managements confirmation is like sitting down waiting for an asteroid to hit Earth. It may surprise us all tomorrow and come then, it might come in a 100 years time or it might not come at all. GNR's spokesperson has yet to return from the holiday he/she seemed to go on sometime in 2002.

It could be different things about Buckethead.

If anyone follows Formula 1 racing, I'll give you a nice example of how contracts and managers act.
Ralf Schumacher drives for Williams BMV and are in talks about a new contract with them, but he's facing troubles with the team, he wants something, they want something different, and so on.

And so his clever manager goes to the media saying Ralf has signed to another team. Later on, the manager for that team says it's bullshit. Ralf's manager then turn to a second team and does the same thing, as in a way to pressure Williams to act so they wont loose their driver. It's all play and games.

Or it might be because Buckethead's fed up with the waiting. His internal bleedings in 2001 was quite a mystery as well.

There's been bits and pieces flying around for a few months now, about Buckethead not being in GNR. At first I thought it was just another round of rumours, but the rumours started to increase and from pretty good sources as well. Management doesnt comment of course, coz they got a contract with Buckethead and for them he's in GNR until otherwise. So, in theory they may deny Bucket's departure with all they got one day and the next day announce his departure. And Im pretty sure they will forget to tell us this time as well.

For us hardcore morons, Buckethead's departure is a big deal, because he has grown to be one of the icons of the new GNR. For the rest of the world it doesnt say much whos playing RIR4. For them it will be Axl and some other guys.

Bucket's departure for us is like a new Slash departure. Im sure Robin can handle this by himself, but GNR's image and build up have suffered a major blow.

If this is the case, then I'd say we can wave goodbye to Chinese Democracy.

There's something wrong here as if the miscommunication between fans and band has spilled over into the band and management itself. It appears that either management has been tiding us over with doubletalk ("he has a contract") or they don't really know whether bucket is in or not. If bucket is out, i would expect his contract would have been terminated. Why pay him if he is not working, therefore why not announce it officially? If he is still under contract, is there any glimmer of hope that he will come back? The two points are at odds with each other. It's as if axl knows the truth, bucket apparently spoke directly to him, and axl didn't bother to tell anyone. Very strange. i wonder what the other guys in the band think now that someone has defected. Remember this isn't the first one to go: freeze left, finck left and came back, tobias left. Who's to say that finck even considers himself part of this traveling circus anymore.

Gnr either shows up at Rio with finck in lead or bucket back in the mix or we get announcements soon of mass defections. Brain, Fortus, Finck, Tommy and Chris, and ultimately Dizzy joining VR.

I'm going to say this one time, nicely:

Please leave Lisa alone.  She's a sweet lady.  She does her best to "help out" the gnr community when she can by confirming/denying rumors, to the best of her knowledge.  She doesn't deserve to be poked at with sharp sticks....so do me favor and be nice.

Maybe Bucket is just putting maximum pressure on Axl to redo his contract and pay him more money? With all the pressure from the media now on the lawsuit, Axl may be in a comprimising situation as he cannot afford anymore negative press. This ship is teetering on the brink of destruction-total destruction if Brain goes with Bucket. Huh

Here's something to think about:

IF Bucket still has a contract with Gnr AND it runs through the RIR IV date

and

IF Bucket refuses to show up and play

and

IF GnR is forced to cancel the gig

Bucket could be held personally responsible for the lost revenue (both from the band, and, if the festival has to grant refunds or whatever, for the festival).

Just something to think about.

I would think that the whole "contract" issue will have to be resolved before RIR....at the very least.

You mean if Buckethead starts acting like Axl?  Roll Eyes

Sorry, pilerk, I dont mean to be rude, but I find it incredibly callous of the nuGNR fans to suddenly make this guitarist the 'BAD MAN'.   We have one poster calling his work "cheesy" after vehemently defending him, and another poster accusing him of extortion (forcing Axl to give him more $$) - oh yeah!!!

I had no idea who this guy before he joined GNR, and I still havent bothered to listen to his solo work, but didnt we hear previously that Bucket is currently ill?  I hope he plays at RIR4 but not at the expense of his health.

I dont think Buckethead will go, Guns n Roses has done so much for him, in terms of promotion and media attention.

I also think this is just another means of putting pressure on Axl to get the album released, Brain had his drum tracks laid down years ago, Buckethead may be in the same situation, by the sounds of things, the amount of touring both Buckethead and Dizzy are doing they must just be waiting for Axl to put his seal of approval on the album. But then again what do any of us know, i dont think anyone apart from Axl knows what is happening, but thats not going to stop me from giving my opinion.

I doubt this is going to affect Rock in Rio, the amount the organisers must have spent on promotion by now must reach into the $1000s (huge posters up everywhere) if guns, a major headliner did pull out id imagine the reprocussions would be huge (yet more lawsuits).

Axl must be fuming, i feel sorry for the guy, he must be under so much pressure at the moment, from the label, us the fans, all this greatest hits legal crap! and now members of his own band. Something has to give in the near future, so much is happening in the world of Guns n Roses its only a matter of time.
